Congratulations to Sincerrai Gentry for receiving one of four $2,500 Better Tomorrow Engineering Scholarships! She is pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, dedicating her studies to creating a better tomorrow. “Engineering melded together my interest in research and design. I found that my passion for creating environmental solutions, alongside my love of technical challenges, made environmental engineering the most appropriate field for me to pursue.” We are proud to support her passion for environmental engineering.

Please celebrate with us as we welcome Brian Walsh to our team to support our growth in our Pacific Northwest Region. He joins B&N as an Associate and will expand our Traffic/Transportation Engineering, Safety and Roundabout expertise nationally. For the past 33 years, Brian has built his career with the Washington State Department of Transportation, gaining a wide variety of experience from traffic safety to establishing statewide policy. His accomplishments include using a traffic design and human factors lens to improve design guidance on geometric standards. He also oversaw traffic analysis policy and process direction, including static and dynamic operational modeling and supported a statewide work zone design team implementing design on large and small projects. His most recent work established and implemented the statewide Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) policy and its procedures, ensuring that innovation will be at the forefront of intersection design throughout the state. He has demonstrated strong passion for roundabouts and alternative intersections through his active involvement with the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and served as the former Roundabout and Other Intersection Design & Control Strategies Committee (AKD80) chair for TRB. Brian has had the honor of managing 200 of the nearly 600 roundabouts in operation in Washington. He is proud of the agency collaboration and safety mindset that has achieved such an impressive number of roundabouts in the state. Welcome, Brian!
