About us
In 1911, the first Scout Troop in the area was organized in Massillon. A year later the first Boy Scout Troop formed in Canton. The Buckeye Council came into existence when the McKinley Area Council (Canton) and The Massillon Area Council merged in October of 1958. Now located in Canton, the Buckeye Council serves 10000 youth and 5000 adults in Wyandot, Marion, Crawford, Morrow, Richland, Ashland, Wayne, Holmes, Stark, Tuscarawas, Carroll and Columbiana counties in Ohio and parts of Hancock County in WV.
