On behalf of BroSis and all of those involved in Thursday's Voices gala - thank you! Over 600 friends and supporters like you joined us in celebrating our members and their voices on May 9th at our 19th annual Voices gala - the largest gala in BroSis history. We appreciate the talented Hasan Minhaj, who led our over 600 guests through an inspiring program at the Ziegfeld Ballroom. We had the distinct pleasure of honoring Ai-jen Poo, National Domestic Workers Alliance President and Supermajority Co-Founder, and Billy Porter, Grammy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning actor, singer, and activist. Ai-jen and Billy's lifelong work embodies the spirit of BroSis by harnessing the power of their history, identity, and community to challenge inequity, foster opportunity, and create impact. Gathered together, we stood united in the call to justice, access, equity, and opportunity that binds the BroSis community together, making space for artistic expression and healing through the evening's performances and testimonials. Our youth made clear the unique power of our programming. The evening featured heartfelt reflections from BroSis members Isaac, Isabel, and Chassidy; a performance by member Ariendy and BroSis alum Frank Antonio Lopez; as well as a riveting spoken word performance by BroSis alum Abraham Velasquez, Jr. - all shared thoughtful and inspiring messages of community and activism. We were moved by the overwhelming generosity from our community - thanks to you, we raised $1.9 million to continue serving Black and Latinx youth in New York City. We're especially grateful for our Co-Chairs, Fundraising Chairs, Coordinating Committee, Benefit Committee, and sponsors who helped make the evening a tremendous success. #voicesgala2024 #voices19 #aijenpoo #billyporter #hasanminhaj #ziegfeldballroom #nyc #gala #brosis
