For #FlashbackFriday we’re traveling 66 years into the past. Two Bristow Westland Widgeon helicopters in the hangar at Das Island Base, United Arab Emirates, circa 1958. Bristow landed a contract with British Petroleum in 1957 and purchased two helicopters to support the mission. Pretty cool logo with the “R” inside the “B” shrouded in wings. #ProudToBeBristow #FlashbackFriday #helicopters #aviation #UAE #offshore #energy

"We’re excited to be collaborating with Vertical as they work to bring the VX4 to market." - Bristow Executive Vice President, Chief Transformation Officer David Stepanek FRAeS
Today marks an important step towards making cleaner, faster and quieter travel a reality. The Vertical team has been focused on delivering the new, world-leading VX4 prototype, which has been built alongside our leading aerospace partners - GKN Aerospace, Hanwha Aviation, Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, Leonardo, E-One Moli Energy and Syensqo - and includes our own proprietary battery and propeller technology. Our most advanced prototype is the only electric take-off and landing vehicle (#eVTOL) designed, built, and assembled in the UK, and it includes: - Leading aerospace partners – 60% of the technology and components included on the latest aircraft are from world-leading aerospace partners, up from 10% on the previous prototype. - First use of battery designed and built for aviation – This battery and powertrain system, developed at our multi-million-pound Vertical Energy Centre, is the most powerful and lightest yet, has a rapid charge time and multiple backup power sources. - Next-generation propellers – Vertical’s new proprietary propellers designed specifically for eVTOLs are optimised for low noise and made of carbon fibre composite using a single-shot cure process to maximise integrity. Testing now begins at our Flight Test Centre in the Cotswolds – watch this space for more updates!

Bristow Caribbean Limited and BP Trinidad & Tobago provide humanitarian support to Grenada following Hurricane Beryl. In a show of solidarity and swift action, Bristow Caribbean Limited and BP Trinidad & Tobago (bpTT) united on Saturday, July 6, 2024, to deliver essential humanitarian aid to the people of Grenada, in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. This devastating storm resulted in severe damage across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petit Martinique, leaving communities in urgent need of assistance. Utilizing the AW139 aircraft, the joint efforts of Bristow and bpTT saw the delivery of critical bedding supplies and medical face masks flown in from Trinidad. The operation included four flights from various destinations, with landings at Maurice Bishop International Airport and Carriacou. After delivering the much-needed supplies, the crew facilitated the transportation of senior Grenadian officials and members of the National Disaster teams to Carriacou. This allowed officials to meet and support residents on the island directly. The team then conducted an aerial survey of the significant damage caused by Hurricane Beryl in Petit Martinique and Grenada before safely returning to Trinidad. The Joint Chambers of Commerce extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bristow Caribbean Limited and BP Trinidad & Tobago for their outstanding efforts and swift response. Their commitment and dedication have made a substantial difference in the lives of those affected by the hurricane. The collaboration between Bristow and bpTT has been instrumental in providing timely support to those affected in Grenada. Their efforts have not only delivered essential supplies but have also highlighted solidarity amongst regional neighbours.
