Brinshore Development, LLC is pleased to announce that U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded $50M Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant to our partners, Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority and City of Las Vegas for the Marble Manor public housing property and Historic Westside neighborhood. A total of 627 mixed-income units will replace all 235 Marble Manor units and an additional 392 affordable and market rate units will be developed to boost housing opportunities in Las Vegas. Also, HUD awarded our partner, Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, a Choice Neighborhoods Initiatives Supplemental Grant of $2.5M to further support the development of replacement housing in conjunction with the Transformation Plan for Tidewater Gardens in the St. Paul’s area of Norfolk, VA. After years of planning, the first of multiple on and off-site redevelopment phases has begun in replacing Southside Terrace Homes. The 84 year-old public housing project is Omaha's oldest and consists of over 50 barrack style buildings within 10 city blocks. Phase I will include over 90 mixed-income housing units for current and future Southside Terrace residents. We are proud to have worked with Southside Terrace's residents, the Omaha Housing Authority, Canopy South, Brinshore Development, LLC, and the City of Omaha along with multiple other partners to help realize this first step toward the next generation of this vibrant neighborhood. We're excited to once again be a part of Legends South, one of Chicago's most ambitious public housing revitalization projects. The 6th phase of this transformative development is now underway, bringing us closer to the goal of 2,400 mixed-income rental and affordable homeownership units. This latest addition will feature a 4-story corridor building with 40 units and nearly 4,000 square feet of commercial space, alongside two 3-story walk-up buildings designed by Brook Architecture. Legends South is reimagining the former Robert Taylor Homes site, reconnecting it to the city's fabric. Previous phases have already established new streets, creating more walkable blocks and a variety of inviting public and private spaces. Brinshore Development, LLC is thrilled to announce the closing of Manson Place Apartments in Houston, TX. This 9% tax credit development totals 76 units in 7 thoughtfully designed walk-up buildings, in Houston’s Third Ward, adjacent to the University of Houston and Texas Southern University. Manson Place will operate services provided by Family Scholar House, providing parents with at least one minor child case management and comprehensive services (childcare, educational partnerships) to successfully complete a post-secondary educational program.   This affordable transit-oriented development is located steps from a bus and light-rail stop connecting residents to employment and recreation centers across Houston. The project also has 66 project-based vouchers from the Houston Housing Authority. The best part of the development process is turning over units to the community. We’re delighted to have completed a full gut rehab of a 6-unit in Chicago Lawn, which will now not only be a home to 6 new families, but will also be a place for these families to build memories, experiences … and of course their future. Burdette & Wade involved the construction of three buildings with 67 residential units, alongside commercial space totaling 80,000 square feet. Additionally, the Overlook component features 47 townhouses and two family dwelling units, totaling 63,000 square feet.
