About us

Brewster Place is one of three organizations that provide services under the corporate umbrella of The Congregational Home, a 501(c)3 Kansas corporation. Founded in 1959 by four Topeka Congregational Churches, the three parts of The Congregational Home -- Brewster Place, the Brewster Foundation and Brewster at Home -- share a common mission: The Congregational Home, a faith-based organization, will enhance the value of the entire span of life through education, research, and services. Brewster Place Mission Providing all of its residents opportunities for an optimal quality of life. Brewster Place provides 160 independent living homes, 70 congregate apartments, 28 assisted living apartments, and a 79 bed skilled nursing and rehab center on a 30 acre campus in southwest Topeka, Kansas. The Brewster Health Center is a licensed and Medicare certified skilled nursing facility. It is the only such facility in Shawnee County to attain a 5-Star Quality rating from CMS and the only facility in this area to win the PEAK Award from the Kansas Department on Aging for its commitment to person-centered care. The center provides a full range of care options including two levels of secure dementia care, restorative nursing, rehabilitation and therapy services, adult day services, and inpatient hospice services. The licensed Assisted Living facilities at Brewster Place include 19 one-bedroom and nine studio apartments.
