Industrial Micro-Precision 3D Printers
About us
Boston Micro Fabrication (BMF) specializes in micro precision 3D printing. The company’s microArch system uses a 3D printing approach called PμSL (Projection Micro-Stereolithography) that leverages light, customizable optics, a high quality movement platform and controlled processing technology to produce the industry’s most accurate and precise high-resolution 3D prints for product development, research and industrial short run production. The technology represents a true industry breakthrough by empowering product manufacturers to capitalize on the benefits of 3D printing without sacrificing quality or scale.

Keratitis, an inflammation of the cornea caused by injury or microorganisms, can be challenging to treat due to barriers that limit drug delivery to the cornea. Traditional treatments like antibiotic eye drops are often less effective because of reduced bioavailability and dilution by tears. To overcome these challenges, researchers from Wuhan University have developed a self-implantable microneedle (MN) patch, published in the journal "Small." This patch uses a core-shell structure to protect active pharmaceutical ingredients, ensuring sustained intraocular drug delivery. This innovative approach could significantly improve the treatment of bacterial keratitis compared to conventional methods. Additionally, this research highlights the broader potential of micro #3Dprinting technology in #precisionmedicine for creating customized medical devices for various treatments, enhancing drug delivery and patient outcomes. Carl Leonard 🐐(TCT🏆🏆) finished another install of our microArch S240 last week! Researchers, Daria Andreea Farcas, Nusrat Jahan, and Aprilia Nur Tasfiyati at UCL, UCL Biochemical Engineering are working on #microfluidics and chromatography, a process for separating components of a mixture - first dissolved in a substance called the mobile phase, then carried through a second substance called the stationary phase. A special thanks to Dhushy Stanislaus for allowing us into the lab to complete our work.
