Our Story
Our founder, Jim Koch, brewed the first batch of Boston Lager in his kitchen after uncovering his great-great-grandfather’s recipe in his father’s attic in 1984. Little did Jim know that Samuel Adams would not only challenge the status quo — it would spark America’s craft brewing revolution. Today, Boston Beer’s, ever-growing portfolio features over 100 styles of high-quality beverages crafted to satisfy a wide range of tastes and thirsts.
Our Mission
We seek long-term profitable growth by offering the highest quality product to the U.S. beer drinker. What makes us different is embodied in our approach to innovation. We want to be the most innovative beverage company on the planet, and we know that true industry leaders don’t follow the footpath of conventionalist ways.
