  • Biomacromolecules harbor a wealth of genetic information reflecting the intricacies of biological evolution. Studying genetic evolution at the molecular level offers several advantages: it enables researchers to estimate divergence times and rates between species based on nucleotide and amino acid structural variations; reduces confounding factors such as convergence and parallel evolution, thereby revealing true phylogenetic relationships; assesses genetic diversity to reflect the genuine evolutionary potential of species; and establishes a closer connection between traits and genes, uncovering genes related to trait regulation. #BMKGENE specializes in genetic evolutionary research through comprehensive whole-genome re-sequencing of representative materials (recommending at least two subgroups, each comprising ≥10 individuals or pooled samples). Our analysis includes detection of SNPs and Indels and subsequent population genetic studies such as linkage disequilibrium analysis, phylogenetic analysis, population structure analysis, effective population size estimation, and gene flow analysis. Our services cater to research areas involving populations of species, including population adaptation studies, domestication selection research, historical dynamics of populations, and the establishment of databases for variations between subgroups. Join us in advancing your research into the depths of genetic evolution! #Genetics #Evolution #Sequencing #BMKGENE

  • On July 30, 2024, one of our clients published a significant research finding in the international academic journal Cell Stem Cell. The research, titled "Acetyl-CoA metabolism maintains histone acetylation for syncytialization of human placental trophoblast stem cells", investigated the glucose-related metabolic characteristics during the differentiation of primary CTBs and hTSCs into STBs in human placenta. Through #epigenomic, #transcriptomic, and non-targeted metabolomic analyses, the study revealed the transition of CTBs and hTSCs from high glycolysis to the basal glycolysis level of STBs. #BMKGENE provided transcriptomic and non-targeted metabolomic services for this research. #BMKGENE #Metabolomics #NonTargtedMatabolomics

  • In diverse survival conditions, the same species can evolve into different subspecies or groups through natural selection, artificial domestication, and genetic drift. Population evolution studies focus on tracing and analyzing these processes by obtaining variation data, such as SNPs and InDels, from natural populations. 💡 By utilizing this population variation data, researchers can investigate critical biological questions concerning genetic diversity, structure, gene flow, species formation mechanisms, and evolutionary dynamics. This molecular-level approach provides invaluable insights into the evolutionary history of species, enhancing our understanding of biodiversity. #BMKGENE offers Whole Genome Re-sequencing and #SLAF reduced representation genome sequencing services, alongside variation analysis and evolutionary genetics analysis, all supported by extensive experience. 🔬 #PopulationGenetics #EvolutionResearch #Biodiversity #BMKGENE

  • The decision whether endosomes enter the degradative or recycling pathway in mammalian cells is of fundamental importance for pathogen killing, and its malfunctioning has pathological consequences. The article, titled "Aspergillus fumigatus hijacks human p11 to redirect fungal-containing phagosomes to non-degradative pathway", was published in Cell Host Microbe. This study finds that human p11 is a critical factor for this decision. The clinical relevance is supported by the identification of a single nucleotide polymorphism in the non-coding region of the S100A10 (p11) gene that affects mRNA and protein expression in response to A. fumigatus and is associated with protection against invasive pulmonary aspergillosis. These findings reveal the role of p11 in mediating fungal PS evasion. 💡 #BMKGENE provided RNA sequencing services for this study. #RNA #HumanP11 #InvasiveAspergillosis #AspergillusFumigatus #CellHostMicrobe
