Phishing scams and other fraud activities are more common after events like we experienced with last week’s CrowdStrike outage. Remember Blue Grass Federal will never call and ask for your information. To help keep you safe from fraudster, follow these tips: 1. Email: Delete and report to your email provider offers claiming assistance recovering from the outage, as they are very likely malicious. 2. Uninitiated Support Outreach: This situation is similar to the fake Microsoft Support phishing and phone scams that have been around for years. You should never trust any support phone call or email that you did not initiate, regardless of where it comes from. If you receive a call claiming to be from a bank, government agency, law enforcement or even IT support, you should hang up and call them back at a known good number (i.e., from the back of your bank or credit card, billing statement or legitimate website).
