About us

“Blue Bottle is coffee and people. Not necessarily in that order.” —James Freeman, Founder In our eyes, coffee’s main purpose is to be delicious. We go to great lengths to source, roast, taste, and prepare coffee so our guests can enjoy it at peak deliciousness. We know that good coffee depends on strong community. We work directly with farmers around the world to source our coffees as sustainably and ethically as we can. We hire team members who are dedicated to creating beautiful experiences with coffee. From the farm to the cafe, our coffee is handled by people who care.

Honoring Women in Coffee As we commemorate Women’s History Month, it’s fitting to recognize the remarkable contributions of women in every sphere of life, including the world of coffee. Although the coffee trade is a male-dominated industry, it's marked by countless improvements, innovations, and strides made by the women who dedicate their lives to the craft. As we celebrate women in coffee, we are shining a spotlight on Silvia Barretto and the Kungahara Women's Group through our Women in Coffee set. These women are deeply ingrained in the trade and are leading change in their regions, their countries, and the coffee industry. Since taking over her family’s coffee estate, Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF), in 2001, Silvia has used her coffee knowledge to lead a revolution in the Brazilian coffeelands. With the transformation of the 2,000 hectare farm into an organic, sustainable, and profitable business, coffee producers in her region are changing their practices for the better. Meanwhile, halfway across the globe in Rwanda, the Kungahara Women’s Group, led by Angelique Tuyisenge, is transforming the future of coffee farming in the country. Women of all ages, with a large number of young women, come together to grow and produce coffee with a focus on quality. The group is dedicated to teaching, training, and empowering a new generation of female farmers. In addition to supporting women coffee producers, we’re committed to uplifting and empowering women in leadership roles at Blue Bottle. Through our Women in Leadership group, we aim to provide a safe and supportive space for women to grow as leaders through mentorship, connection, and exchange of ideas. Join us in raising our cups to Silvia, the Kungahara Women’s Group, and all women whose efforts leave an enduring mark on the coffee industry.

Marketing & Sustainability @ Nespresso | Mother | Working Parent ERG Executive Sponsor

A partnership worth celebrating: Nestlé Nespresso SA and Blue Bottle Coffee came together to host an exclusive launch party in the West Village to celebrate Blend No. 1, a limited-edition coffee born from curiosity and a shared commitment to creating superior coffee experiences. Our guests had the chance to sample the new blend hot, iced or in cocktail form and hear from the creators themselves, Alexis Rodriguez and Benjamin C. Brewer! This new Vertuo coffee will be available this Wednesday only at Nespresso.com and in our boutiques. We expect it to go FAST, as most things do with Blue Bottle! So lucky we get to work together on this, and hopefully many more! Special thanks to nmbl and Atif Ateeq and Humai Mustafa of HAPPYMONDAY for the video! #limitededition #launchparty #newproduct #bluebottle #partnerships
