What does the next generation of pandemic preparedness look like? 🤔 We were delighted to be part of the #BARDA VITAL Global Health Security Symposium at the Rahel Hirsch Center last week, where we explored just that! In addition to letting us talk about the importance of investing in medical countermeasures, the event gave us the opportunity to see what innovative response solutions are in the works. 💡 Congratulations to the top teams of the BARDA VITAL Prize Challenge, who were selected from a stellar group of finalists: Cutanos GmbH won the first prize of $20,000. Avocet Bio GmbH Bio followed closely with a $15,000 prize. Sensible Biotechnologies finished in third place with $10,000. If there's one thing that the Covid-19 pandemic taught us, it's that readiness is synonymous to health. They presented their idea to the public for the first time last week at the 2024 BIH Digital Health Accelerator Demo Day. In this interview with Handelsblatt, the team made up of Caroline Gabrysch and Sophia Ossmann talks further about what prompted them to create their product and their plans for the future. Thanks to warm weather, we were able to co-host the first Digital Cocktail Hour of the year at the Merantix AI Campus outdoors patio. 🍹🌞 Amongs other things, we spoke about the importance of never "over-engineering" yourself, taking advantage of existing #solutionarchitects, and how to build something in a way that allows for recovery and easy backup.
