**Employee Spotlight: Jorge Ferrey Machado** Meet Jorge Ferrey Machado, one of our passionate and dedicated leaders at the heart of BIGGBY® COFFEE's sustainable farming initiatives. As the Director of Sustainable Farming & Quality Assurance, Jorge plays a crucial role in nurturing relationships with coffee producers, ensuring sustainable farming practices, and maintaining the highest quality standards for our coffee. Jorge works to sustain and expand farm-direct coffee relationships, providing hands-on support and training to coffee producers. He is Q Grader Certified and ensures we have the highest quality for our specialty coffee. His expertise in agronomy allows him to guide producers in sustainable farming techniques and also help them understand the economics of coffee production. His coaching and education aid coffee producers in implementing best practices for coffee cultivation and harvesting. Outside of the coffee world, Jorge likes spending time with his wife and 2 kids. He is very nature-oriented, enjoys hiking, cooking for friends, and building relationships. Jorge's love for coffee, people, and sustainability drives him to make a meaningful impact on the lives of coffee producers and the quality of our coffee. Roman plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and efficient real estate operations across our growing network. As the Real Estate Coordinator, Roman serves as the primary point of communication for all real estate matters. Roman diligently reviews and approves site approval request forms, ensuring that all proposed locations meet our standards and strategic goals. He also monitors real estate-related timelines, working closely with franchise owners to manage extensions and ensure timely progress. Roman continually develops and updates systems and procedures for all real estate processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness. Outside of BIGGBY®, Roman spends time with his family – his wife Nicole, son Jett (13), and daughters Laurel (5) and Cayde (9 Months). He spends countless hours volunteering for his local youth sports; soccer, baseball, and basketball. He coaches nearly every team one of his kids is on. Roman also enjoys the occasional round of golf and is an avid video game player. Nicole plays a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating our brand standards through her exceptional design skills and creative vision. As the Senior Graphic Designer, Nicole is responsible for the ideation and creation of various brand assets for BIGGBY® COFFEE. Her conceptual thinking, art and photo direction, and design production ensure that our brand's visual identity remains consistent and compelling. Nicole manages design requests from both Home Office team members and external operators, providing timely and high-quality solutions. She designs and maintains biggby.com, the BIGGBY® Apps, and the Brand Portal, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience. Nicole also aids with photography and art direction at photoshoots, ensuring our visual content aligns with brand standards. Nicole’s favorite piece of artwork recently created for BIGGBY® COFFEE is the entire Coffee Season 3 campaign, but especially the Shark Bite campaign. When Nicole isn’t designing stunning visuals, you might find her hanging with her eight-year-old son who is teaching her the world of Minecraft, or tapping into her inner Bob Villa on house reno projects. As a Franchise Business Coach, Katie conducts regular coaching sessions, mentoring franchisees on best practices for managing business finances effectively. She also assists in creating strategic initiatives to optimize operations, reduce costs, and increase revenue.
