Philip has been one of Deshunt’s BIGgest supporters, jumping up and down with joy when he heard the news of his Little Brother’s acceptance to UCLA. Their journey together continues to inspire us all, as they plan to continue onto our college preparation program: CPAC. True brothers for life! ❤️ Congratulations, Deshunt! Managing Director @ THE FIFTH | Award-Winning Digital/Creative/Brand Marketing Leader | Advisor

At a young age, I was once a kid who life threw way more than any kid should ever have to deal with at my feet. Without the guidance and leaning in from many who simply wanted to do good and give me a chance, I don't end up where I am today. So with that as a backdrop, it couldn't have been more of an honor to launch our inaugural Tours Open Doors event in collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America a couple of weeks ago, where we hosted dozens of kids at our home on the FOX Studio Lot in Los Angeles, providing studio tours, lunch, and inspiring sessions from a variety of speakers from leaders across various businesses at FOX Studios. The mission, since the initial ideation of the initiative, has always been simple. If kids can see something they can be something, and giving these kids a look behind the curtain on various career paths that exist for them in marketing and entertainment that they might not typically see created a spark that was visible for all to see throughout the day. A difference was made, and that's all you can ever hope for. A huge thank you to Deborah Barge, CFRE and Adam Vasallo for having open ears during a conversation at the Super Bowl that sparked this. Huge thanks to Diogo Felippelli @Carissa Smith Ani Akpan for coming out and speaking and motivating the kids. Huge thank you to Rose Sadler Stacey Robinson Kimberly Fine Gutierrez for leaning in to make sure the kids had everything they needed to make the day special. Thank you to Eric Rehm for being a great partner in bringing this all to fruition. Lastly, huge thanks to Fox Corporation Tubi for caring, as sometimes, that's all it takes. We @ THE FIFTH look forward to continuing to test the limits on how much good we can do in the world around us. #DoGood #Philanthropy #ToursOpenDoors

VP of Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion @ Big Brothers Big Sisters of America | Diversity and Inclusion

In mid-April, amidst the whirlwind of our National Conference planning, a spark ignited within the team to celebrate Juneteenth differently this year. With less than two months to execute, the challenge was formidable but fueled by a vision to amplify the significance of Juneteenth and engage deeply with the voices of the Black community. Our journey began with an invaluable partnership with Lauren Plichta and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles team, who shared our passion and drive. Lauren introduced me to Micki Jackson, her dynamic Manager of Community Outreach. Together, we envisioned an event that wasn't just BIG, but meaningful—packed with speakers, presenters, and musicians. However, securing a venue with the clock ticking was our first hurdle. Fortune smiled upon us with WalkGood LA, a venue that not only embraced our idea but also became the cornerstone of our plans. With the venue set, the pieces began falling into place. Despite being just three weeks out, we managed to assemble an extraordinary panel including Samantha Neyland, Reginald B. McKinley, II, and Anefertiti Bowman. Our longstanding partners, Whitney Taber of Girls Make Beats and Brandon Santiago with Get Lit - Words Ignite, came through to enrich our event with compelling youth performances. As the event date approached, coinciding with the start of my family vacation, I was torn between personal commitments and professional passion. Thankfully, Eve Hemby Jones, our Director of J.E.D.I., stepped in seamlessly to not only download all of the details and be on the ground, but also to engage with the attendees, ensuring a memorable and impactful experience for all. This Juneteenth, WalkGood LA was more than a venue—it was a testament to what can be achieved when ambition meets action. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this unforgettable celebration. Your dedication and spirit have truly made a difference. #Juneteenth #CommunityImpact #BBBSLA #WalkGoodLA #JEDI
