Beyond Basics CEO and co-founder, Pamela Good, recently published a powerful op-ed in the DC Journal, calling for the next president to take immediate action on the crisis of illiteracy impacting millions of Americans. Pamela’s message is clear: literacy is foundational to economic opportunity, personal well-being, and civic engagement. Without intervention, countless individuals will be held back from reaching their full potential. In her piece, Pamela outlines critical steps policymakers must consider to ensure literacy access for all, a mission we uphold daily through our transformative, one-on-one, phonics-based tutoring programs. Join us in raising awareness of this urgent issue and in advocating for the literacy support all individuals need to thrive! Read the full op-ed here: https://lnkd.in/ebtTN7Wj

This past summer, Sound Mind Sound Body and Beyond Basics joined forces to empower kids at seven locations, emphasizing their physical and mental development. Curtis Blackwell, Founder & President of Sound Mind Sound Body, recently discussed the collaboration on the Anything is Possible with Jack Krasula podcast stating, "Being an elite student-athlete relies heavily on literacy as the most crucial element. Athletic scholarships and exceptional performance at the collegiate level depend on the ability to read, write, and communicate with confidence. While Sound Mind Sound Body prepares thousands of students for college each year, Beyond Basics is our first partner that truly focuses on the foundational literacy skills necessary for college readiness. The learning components of Beyond Basics greatly enhance both technical skills and sports knowledge." Sound Mind Sound Body Foundation
