Ryan Kelly, one of our Berkley Select Claims Team Leads, recently participated in a Podcast panel titled ‘The Precipice Podcast for PLUS that discussed a number of current issues in LPL claims. Some ongoing trends in LPL claims include • Social engineering schemes targeting law firms. • The post Covid law firm and how those firms are adjusting to attorney mentorship and development in a hybrid or remote work environment. • Mental health issues that continue to evolve as some attorneys struggle with the after effects of Covid. • A rise in conflicts of interest in LPL claims and the continued rapid growth and potential liability risks with attorneys using AI. Ryan elaborated on mental health: “I think there is emerging research and information coming out that there is a mental health crisis coming from the pandemic and remote work environment. So, what do you do in cases where you had a formerly high functioning attorney that was operating pretty much independently that people were not providing a whole lot of oversight to that suddenly because they are having a mental health issue, work product starts to suffer.
