Thank you for the amazing work you do, Carrie!
We are thrilled to spotlight Carrie Petrelli, LCSW, CCM,CDP, a recent graduate of our Memory Program Coordinator Management in Training (MPC-IT) program, who is now making an incredible impact as a Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care (DAMC) at our Belmont Village Oak Park community. 🎉 Reflecting on her experience, Carrie shared how the program has deepened her passion for memory care and aging services. Transitioning from a career in social work to assisted living, Carrie found Belmont Village to be the perfect place to cultivate her love for senior care. The skills she gained as a social worker have provided her with a unique perspective on transitional care and caregiver support, aligning perfectly with Belmont’s values. "The management in training program is an excellent example of how Belmont Village provides us with the tools to not only succeed as leaders, but to also embrace ourselves as individuals to become better leaders in our field. I am grateful to my mentor and preceptor, Krista. I still turn to her if I ever need advice or guidance, which has been one of the most impactful parts of the MPC-IT program. I continue to learn and grow since taking on my role as DAMC at Belmont Oak Park." - Carrie Petrelli

At Belmont Village, providing growth opportunities is important to us and a key part of our employee culture. In 2007, we established our management in-training programs to provide professional growth, and now we offer programs in nursing, resident programming, culinary and operations. Since its launch in 2017, our Memory Program Coordinator In-Training Program has produced 13 graduates, most of whom are still working with us in the role that they trained for. This program, along with all of our management in-training programs, is open to both internal and external candidates. To learn more, please visit https://ow.ly/Sygi50R2brV.

We are proud to highlight our next Impact Hero, Kim Ward, M.A., whose dedication and leadership have been instrumental in Belmont Village’s collaboration with the Houston Alzheimer's Association®. Since joining the Alzheimer’s Association board in the fall of 2022, Kim has spearheaded numerous fundraising efforts, including resident art shows and events like “Burgers and Bingo” for “The Longest Day” initiative to raise awareness and funds. We are also grateful for her coordinating events with several board members who have been hosted to speak at our Belmont Village Houston communities. In April, we had the honor of sponsoring a table at the Alzheimer’s “Aware Luncheon,” featuring insights from Dr. Huda Zogbhi, and our participation helped raise $362,000. Kim’s dedication has greatly enhanced our impact, reinforcing Belmont Village’s leadership in memory care and connecting families with important resources. Belmont Village served as the top sponsor for the Courage to Care Caregiver conference in 2023. We have also been a leading corporate sponsor and fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Walk, and for the past two years, Kim has served as the Alzheimer’s Walk Team Captain for Belmont Village Hunters Creek and Belmont Village West University communities. In honor of Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Kim for her invaluable contributions. Thank you for your dedication and passion in raising awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association and building long-lasting relationships that have truly made a difference in our Belmont Village communities. Together, we are committed to supporting this cause and working to #EndAlz. 💜 “This partnership has enabled me to work alongside the leading Doctors in Alzheimer’s and immersed me in cutting-edge information and Alzheimer’s research. Our partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association has been immensely beneficial, providing educational programs and resources we heavily rely on in our Belmont Village Houston communities. This collaboration has allowed me to grow professionally and personally while representing Belmont Village in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. Most of all, I am grateful for the relationships I have made on the board and the opportunity to do my part in the fight to End Alzheimer’s while representing Belmont Village prominently in the Houston community.” - Kim Ward
