It's all happening at our Tukwila headquarters! This week we hosted delegates from the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings & Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) in Seattle for their CU Educational Tour! Since 1968, ACCOSCA has been pivotal in fostering cooperative savings and credit societies across Africa, making a significant impact on communities continent-wide. During their visit, our President and CEO, Beverly Anderson, had the privilege of leading insightful discussions on the US Credit Union System and sharing strategies for strengthening institutional capacity in cooperatives, with a special focus on their vital role in Africa. It was a truly enriching experience aimed at empowering cooperative movements globally. 🌎

Each July, we celebrate Disability Awareness Month at BECU. It's a time to raise awareness, connect, celebrate the diversity and advance opportunities for people with disabilities. Today, in partnership with our Office of Equity & Inclusion and our Achieving Disability Awareness Employee Resource Group (ADA ERG), we hosted a discussion about mental health awareness and shared space with community nonprofits NAMI, Outdoors for All Foundation, Hearing, Speech & Deaf Center (HSDC) and National MS Society. Advocates shared insights, experiences and ways we can create positive change for our colleagues, members and communities!

What a memorable time celebrating our ninth annual Being BECU awards! The night recognized peer-nominated employees who exemplify BECU’s Purpose and core values every day in support of each other, our members and our communities.
