Tomorrow, we’re celebrating a monumental milestone—our 30th Anniversary! Reaching this point is a huge achievement, especially considering many of our employees have been with us for 10 years. Your dedication and hard work have made all the difference, and we couldn’t have done it without you. To put this into perspective: ·        18% of businesses don’t survive their first year ·        Half won’t make it to 5 years ·        65% close before their 10th anniversary ·        Only 25-30% reach 15 years ·        And just 5% make it to 30 years We’re incredibly proud to be part of that 5%, and it’s all thanks to our amazing team! As we pause to reflect on this incredible and unexpected journey, we would like to share a little about how all of this came to fruition.    Our founder Joseph Thomas Becker has lived by the thinking that “hard work wins”. Growing up in Carrick (a small suburb of Pittsburgh, PA) as part of a family with 7 siblings, working hard was expected. He started working early by getting himself a paper route at the earliest opportunity, his eyes still light up when he talks about those days. As time went on, his drive and work ethic continued to grow, and his brother recommended he enter the into the insurance industry. He started out as an insurance adjuster as he was also starting a family, and life was coming at him quick. After several years of working as an insurance adjuster and learning everything he could about the carrier side, he decided to take a job at a local PI firm before he decided to take a leap of faith and open his own company.   On February 19, 1994, Becker & Company opened its doors for business as a small regional firm handling work in the tri-state area of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. The next 20 years were a battle, with PI firms in most neighborhoods but he continued to make it grow. By 2008, it was clear the industry preferred national firms and that’s when he took another leap of faith to expand as a Nationwide PI firm. The early years were filled with some uncertainty, but people noticed and realized the quality of our work and we continued to expand. Today, Becker & Company remains one of the few family-owned and operated national firms in the country, and there are no signs of slowing down.   Lastly and most importantly, we would like to thank our clients who have trusted and counted upon us to deliver. When we were asked to perform several days of surveillance on a claimant alleging strain to both shoulders who was cleared to work light duty, our dedicated team got to work documenting the nature and extent of their injuries. Through a thorough investigation and observation, we uncovered crucial evidence: the claimant was seen lifting heavy objects with both "injured" shoulders! 💡 Did you know 💡 The internet serves as a vast repository for everything that gets posted. You've probably heard the saying, "What you post never truly disappears; it's there forever." As a society, we not only share events we are involved in but also moments and observations from our daily lives. Did you know there is a way to find valuable information related to a loss or claim? Below is an excerpt collected during an investigation. ***Property Fire and Fatality*** A fire occurred on the insured property which caused one fatality and multiple injuries. It was claimed the building manager got an electrical box wet causing the fire. We conducted searches utilizing the provided information to locate additional information, witnesses, and involved parties. From our searches, we uncovered numerous articles and social media posts highlighting additional details about the loss, indicating applicable annual inspections were conducted on July 25, 2024, a few weeks prior to the loss, in which no significant issues were reported aside from the broken elevators. The building is a senior housing property with 22 stories, and the deceased 86-year-old woman was found on the 14th floor stairwell during evacuation efforts. Residents and other involved parties made comments regarding the building’s lack of working elevators for years such as: "I asked the manager, 'When are we going to fix this elevator?' She says, When the owner gets $22,000, that's when they're gonna fix it". “WOW I knew they wanted those wanted them out but to burn them .. So will they let them back in there after they do the repairs... We shall see...I hope my friends there are okay....
