The #BEARcares group was delighted to volunteer with the Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) / Special Leisure Services Foundation (SLSF) Camp Connections Car Wash yesterday at Kirk School in Palatine. The car wash accepted donations to support NWSRA programming. A variety of volunteers attended from the BEAR Cares program and enjoyed helping the car wash assembly line of workers get the job done! BEAR Cares is an employee driven initiative that organizes and participates in various outreach programs, fundraising events, donation activities and other forms of volunteerism and proud to support organizations such as NWSRA. BEAR recently held our bi-annual Superintendent Meeting. Various field supervision topics were discussed as well as some company overview messaging from our executive team. However, the main focus of the meeting was Stop Work Authority and Project Safety. Also, in collaboration with Kevin Graves from Marsh McLennan, we provided specialized scaffolding training for our superintendents. This training is crucial as it not only enhances our team’s technical proficiency but also reinforces our commitment to safety. Safety is our top priority, and this initiative reflects our ongoing dedication to the wellbeing of our workforce and the quality of our construction practices. #BEARcc #SafetyFirstSafetyAlways #MarshMcLennan

INTERN UPDATE! Most of our Summer ’24 interns are entering their last weeks before returning to their respective colleges. By now, they’ve already spent two months gaining hands-on construction experience with BEAR’s team members at our various offices and on project sites. As their internships draw to a close, we continue their education by giving them a behind the scenes look at what it takes to make a successful operation like BEAR work. Our Intern Overview Day immerses them in other aspects of BEAR, including tours of our warehouse and plan production process, and presentations from our safety, accounting, IT and legal departments. They learn how important each of these functions is to the company and every project’s success. The training goes even further, as they spend time with our business development and marketing professionals, learning how we brand ourselves and our methods for prospecting and winning work. Finally, we timed this training day with one of our ongoing Superintendent meetings. The interns were integrated into the meeting, learning what challenges our Superintendents face and what makes them successful. Summer of 2024 has been a blast with this crew, and we’re looking forward to finishing strong. It’s our duty to help forge the next generation of construction leaders, and we can’t wait to watch this group continue to grow! #BEARcc #FutureLeaders #Interns

BEAR Construction was recognized in the Crain’s Chicago Business premier list of Chicago’s largest construction companies. The companies on this Top 25 list, ranked by 2023 revenue, saw on average a 25% increase in revenue from 2022 to 2023. The award was presented at their Past Presidents' & Award Night at the Harley-Davidson Museum on May 14, 2024. On July 16,1984, Nick, George and Jim Wienold incorporated their new carpentry firm under the name BEAR Construction Company. Cardio Kidz is a youth running program dedicated to supporting the physical, social and emotional growth of children from the ages of 2-14, all abilities, in a positive community-focused environment. Cardio Kidz provides a positive atmosphere where encouragement and healthy competition allow every child to thrive. There are 3 sessions/races that emphasize personal improvement and steer away from competitive pressures. Children are encouraged every step of the way with endless cheering and volunteer running buddies available for additional support. BEAR was honored to support the Arlington Heights Inaugural event on July 14th by providing finish line popsicles to over 75 race participants and their family members.
