Did you know that Beacon (thanks to the support of our community) restored a historical building in downtown Minneapolis and converted it into deeply affordable homes? We were honored to host the Minneapolis Area REALTORS® Foundation at Great River Landing the other day. MAR Foundation's generosity represents an investment in the lives of formerly incarcerated community members, helping to ensure they have the stability and support needed to pursue their goals. Great River Landing residents have access to comprehensive wraparound support from our partner, 180 Degrees, Inc., including mental health and employment navigation services. Thank you, MAR Foundation, for investing in supportive housing!

What’s the impact of deeply affordable, supportive housing? Having gone from homelessness and housing insecurity to being safely housed at Cranberry Ridge, Amanda knows the answer on a deep level. When Peace Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Minnesota, decided to close its doors, the congregation gifted Beacon with $100,000 from the sale of its church. This generous gift will help Beacon create and sustain supportive homes across the Twin Cities metro. “While it was challenging to come to terms with closing our congregation, it has brought us so much joy to know that this conclusion will allow so many lives to be changed," said Valerie Sorenson, member of the Peace Lutheran discernment committee.
