  • When determining if a Medicare Advantage plan may be right for you, we know cost is an important factor in your decision-making process. Medicare costs can vary significantly depending on the specifics of your plan and your unique health situation. That said, Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans all include built-in protection that helps limit excessive healthcare costs. This is known as “maximum out-of-pocket protection.”    Understanding max out-of-pocket protection is essential before finalizing your Medicare choices, so our team made this brief video to help you better understand what to look for when deciding what type of Medicare coverage is right for you. https://lnkd.in/ev-YbAPv #Medicare #MedicareHelp #MedicareEnrollment #MaxOutOfPocketProtection #MedicareCosts #MedicareAdvantage

When you become eligible for Medicare, you only have a short timeframe to enroll, and it’s important to use it wisely. Today, we continue our series of posts highlighting each Medicare enrollment opportunity by focusing on the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period.    The Advantage Open Enrollment Period occurs annually from January 1st – March 31st, and it allows individuals currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan to change their coverage selection by either switching to a different Medicare Advantage plan, or by selecting a different form of Medicare coverage entirely.    While the next Advantage Open Enrollment Period is still several months away, individuals currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan should still be thinking ahead. These individuals can also utilize the Annual Election Period (AEP) that runs annually from October 15 – December 7 if they’d like to change their current Medicare selections.   Scroll through the slides to learn more about the Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period. The Aevo team can help you plan ahead if you’re interested in switching Medicare plans, and we will also be here to help you review your Medicare options when the time comes.   #Medicare #MedicareEnrollment #MedicareAdvantage #AdvantageOpenEnrollment

  • Over the weekend, the Social Security Administration took a positive step toward ensuring it remains up-to-date on the ins and outs of the modern workplace. Long relying on the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) to make findings of "disabled" and "not disabled" for individuals applying for SSDI and SSI benefits, Social Security has recognized the obsolescence of the DOT and moved to remove several occupations from its list of occupations to consider when determining if someone applying for disability benefits could perform other types of work. Be on the lookout for an upcoming Business Sense blog post in which we dive into this exciting move and what it means for the future of Social Security, but in the meantime, scroll through to learn more about what changes are being implemented right now. #SSDI #SocialSecurityDisability #SSDIHelp #Advocacy #SSAUpdates #SocialSecurityAdministration #DOT

  • As part of our ongoing series introducing the faces of the Aevo Services team, we are pleased to introduce Chris Rondeau, Senior Eligibility Specialist.   As Senior Eligibility Specialist, Chris will likely be the first person someone speaks with when calling Aevo to inquire about Medicare assistance. He helps determine if individuals interested in Medicare are qualified to enroll in coverage and prepares them to begin the Medicare enrollment process with one of Aevo’s licensed insurance agents. When Chris joined Brown & Brown 17 years ago, he worked closely with the benefit coordination and reimbursement facilitation teams supporting individuals applying for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. His years of customer service experience helping individuals seeking disability benefits and Medicare have given him unique insight into what it is like for Aevo customers to go through the often stressful process of selecting a Medicare plan, so he can assist them with the compassion and patience they deserve. When asked what he enjoys most about working on the Aevo team, Chris shared, “One of the main reasons I love working here is the leadership team. You could not ask for a better group of leaders. They want the company to grow and, more importantly, us to grow as individuals. I have grown up with this company, all my major life events happened while working here, getting married, two kids, purchasing my first home, and I’m so thankful for the journey.” Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. They spend most of their family time at soccer fields, hockey rinks or middle school musicals directed by his daughter. #BBThePowerOfWE #Team #Teammate #MedicareMindfulness #MedicareHelp #Medicare

  • When employees take leaves of absence and submit accommodation requests, employers who fail to abide by state and federal legislation will face significant consequences such as hefty fees, business disruptions, productivity losses and other damages. As a result, it is essential that employers understand and adhere to the laws put in place to protect both employees and employers in these situations. In response to the increasing volume and complexity of paid and unpaid leave programs, Brown & Brown has expanded our consulting capabilities to provide meaningful support and actionable guidance to carriers, employers and third-party administrators who manage and pay benefits for leave programs. Our Absence & Accommodation Consulting Services offer comprehensive support for those grappling with the complexities of the leave and accommodations landscape and are concerned about the risks of mismanaging their legal obligations. To learn more about how our team of professionals, with extensive experience in workplace accommodations, ADA issues and pregnancy protections, can best assist you, check out our latest Business Sense blog post at the link below. #Absensibility #BusinessSense #AbsenceManagement #ADA #Accommodations #AccommodationManagement #PaidLeave #PaidFamilyAndMedicalLeave #PFML #FMLA #PregnancyProtections #Consulting #ConsultingSolutions

  • After years of local and national efforts, President Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law on June 17, 2021, officially recognizing June 19th as Juneteenth National Independence Day and one of only eleven Federal Holidays in the United States. The origin of Juneteenth stems from Galveston, Texas, and the anniversary of Union Army General Gordon Granger's June 19, 1865, announcement of General Order No. 3 – the transmission of the Emancipation Proclamation to people in Texas. Even though slavery had been officially outlawed two years earlier, a limited presence of Union troops in Texas after the end of the American Civil War resulted in slow and inconsistent enforcement until General Granger made his announcement. Celebrations of what was known as "Jubilee Day" started just one year after General Granger's announcement. As the years progressed, so did the celebrations, and by the 1890s, the Day of Jubilee became known and celebrated as Juneteenth. Today, we celebrate Juneteenth as a day of freedom, opportunity, equity, and progress for all. We are thankful for the work of those such as Opal Lee, the Grandmother of Juneteenth, whose decades of determination have helped to develop Juneteenth into what it is today. #Juneteenth #JuneteenthCelebrations #June19th #Freedom
