We love bringing care to communities in need — thanks to the Banfield Foundation x Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) mobile unit, this past weekend, more than 100 pets received free care belonging to pet owners in the Douglass Homes - Housing Authority of Baltimore City. This free clinic was possible through our donors who funded the medical supplies, our partners at BARCS as well as the amazing volunteers from the local Baltimore Banfield Pet Hospital teams — THANK YOU! 🙌 #banfieldfoundation #banfieldgivesback #abetterworldforpets #proudlymars

One of the many great things about Banfield being proudly part of Mars is the incredible opportunity to join a global community committed to driving positive change. This is embodied in the Mars Ambassador Program (MAP), a signature Mars volunteer program that empowers Associates to volunteer their time and skills to help nonprofit organizations advance their mission. By aligning with our business priorities and purpose, MAP ensures that the skills and expertise of our Associates are applied in ways that not only support these organizations but also align with our core values and strategic goals. We’re thrilled to share that 14 Banfield Associates have been selected for MAP assignments this year! Our charitable arm, the Banfield Foundation is co-hosting and funding assignments in Arizona, Hawaii and – new this year – Saipan. We also have Associates headed to Ghana and India. We can’t wait to share details and photos from their travels later this year. Congratulations to all the Ambassadors! #ProudlyMars #BanfieldFoundation #BanfieldGivesBack Mars Mars Veterinary Health Banfield Foundation Kim Van Syoc Arizona Humane Society Kauai Humane Society Humane Society International

Today’s #accesstocare work on📍Navajo Nation… The state of animal welfare is heartbreaking right now — and so is human welfare. Which is why we spend weekend(s) going community-to-community, door-to-door bringing care across the Navajo Reservation, meeting the needs of people who desperately want to meet the needs of their pets. In addition to the Banfield Foundation x Parker Project mobile unit enabling free care and spay and neuter services, we’re currently working with — and funding — RedRover to unchain animals, build fences, provide shelter, clean water, food (and toys) for the most vulnerable populations of dogs and cats. And as always, we’ve brought our most valuable resources — Banfield Foundation and BluePearl Cares volunteer veterinarians and technicians to support our partners, pets and the people who love them. Thank you to our volunteers from BluePearl Pet Hospital and Royal Canin our own field clinic manager, Lacey Frame, who wakes up every single day with the sole purpose of making #abetterworldforpets. #banfieldfoundation #bluepearlcares #endingpethomelessness #proudlymars

Until next time Zuni Pueblo — it’s been an honor to serve your pets and your people! 🏜️ Three days, 145 surgeries and 100 wellness appointments = long hours, a lot of teamwork, and less unwanted puppies and kittens! A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers from Banfield Pet Hospital and BluePearl Pet Hospital including Banfield’s own Stacie Kite who performed nearly 85 surgeries on her own! 💪💪 Thank you to our amazing partners at Humane Society of Tulsa for always showing up for pets in need no matter the location! And to our donors = thank YOU for making this work possible! 🧡 #banfieldfoundation #accesstocare #endingpethomelessness #proudlymars

Last night was a very good night…🏆🥂🤩 What an absolute honor to be named Urban Resource Institute’s 2024 PALS Animal Champion at its 10th anniversary celebration last night and receive recognition for doing what we do best — helping pets and the people who love them. Over the last five years, Banfield Foundation has granted more than $1M to increase awareness about the link between domestic violence and pets we helped increase the number of pet-friendly domestic violence shelters across the U.S. Two of our #banfieldfoundation grants included work with Nathaniel Fields and Urban Resource Institute in New York City — a city where #domesticviolence accounts for 1:5 homicides and 2:5 reported assaults. Today, a Banfield Foundation Pet Park exists in two URI pet-friendly domestic violence shelters, one in the Queens and one in the Bronx — a borough with the highest female homicide. Our secure pet parks mean more safe spaces for pets and people to play freely and without fear and more days to live (and love) safer together. Thank you to our amazing grants manager, Lane LaPlante, for graciously accepting this amazing award and always advocating for those who need the most help. ✨🧡🐾 #abetterworldforpets #domesticviolenceawareness #proudlymars

From the emergency room to the Arizona desert: BluePearl Cares recently deployed its first-ever group of BluePearl Cares Care Corps volunteers, including five skilled veterinary technicians and an ER doctor from BluePearl, on a mission to increase access to veterinary care on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Arizona. Alongside partners from Arizona Humane Society and RAVS, the team performed 130 surgeries, administered vaccines, and tackled everything from tick-borne disease and fractured limbs to TVT (transmissible general tumor) cases! Thank you to our incredible BluePearl Associates, BluePearl Cares and Arizona Humane Society for volunteering their time and talent, as well as the Banfield Foundation for providing the medical supplies and resources to help make #ABetterWorldForPets. Learn more about BluePearl Cares and their mission to make emergency and specialty veterinary care accessible for all: http://bluepearlcares.org. Paid travel volunteering as its best — the 2024 Mars Ambassador Program (MAP) is here and applications are officially open! 🎉🙌✈️👩⚕️🐕🦺 Banfield Foundation is hosting and funding 4 MAP trips assignment and we’re looking to bring 20 Associates with us to Hawaii, Arizona, and the Northern Mariana Islands to help make #abetterworldforpets ⬇️ 💦 September 7 - 21 — we’re partnering with Saipan Humane Society to provide preventive sick care and spay/neuter services to the remote islands of Saipan and Rota, where no veterinary care exists. 🌴 September 29 - October 7 — we’re bringing a team to Hawaii to work alongside PetFix (Big Island) and Kauai Humane Society to spay/neuter as many medium and large female dogs as we can, alleviating a months long waitlist and curbing the dog population crisis. 💦 October 12 - 26 — we’re headed back to with Saipan Humane Society to continue and grow the work started in September! 🌵 October 14 - 19 — we’re (always) partnering with Arizona Humane Society to provide preventive, spay/neuter and sick pet care to pets on the Hopi Reservation in Keams Canyon, Arizona. This is some of the most rewarding, soul filling, life-changing, humbling work we do…and we want everyone to have the opportunity to experience it for themselves! If you’re a part of the Mars Veterinary Health or Mars Petcare family of business and a veterinarian or a licensed veterinary technician within the United States or Canada send me a message or learn more at 👉 acts.mars.com/map. #banfieldfoundation #banfieldgivesback #proudlymars #proudlymarspetcare #endingpethomelessness #marsambassadorprogram

Banfield Foundation's 2023 Impact Report is here and we've got a lot to celebrate—including $3.3 million in grants to increase help break barriers to veterinary care and mobilize veterinary teams! 2023 was a year of growing and expanding partnerships with skilled veterinary teams and nonprofit partners in order to increase the number of helping hands providing care in remote locations—working in tents, out of vans, in community centers or in school gymnasiums—all with a focus on bringing more care to more pets in more places. Here are three of my favorite highlights from the year: 👩⚕️ 121,426 pets received free or low cost preventive care: wellness checks, flea, tick and heartworm preventives, vaccines, spay and neuter surgery and more across 23 states including Puerto Rico and the Northern Mariana Islands 🩺 3,450 Associate volunteer hours recorded through our Care Knows No Boundaries grant program (thank you to the amazing veterinarians and veterinary technicians from Banfield Pet Hospital, BluePearl Pet Hospital, VCA Animal Hospitals and Royal Canin who donated time and talent). 🚐 $750,000 in support to nonprofit partners through the donation of six mobile veterinary units: LifeLine Animal Project (Atlanta), Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS)), PAWS Chicago, Michigan Humane (Detroit), Maui Humane Society and The Parker Project (Navajo Nation) medical supplies and resources to help enable care within each community. A heartfelt thank you to the incredible teams of veterinary professionals and nonprofit partners who make this work possible...we are so grateful for every volunteer, every partner, every dollar, and every donor that fuels this life-changing and life-saving work. And to the remarkable #banfieldfoundation team: Paula Little, Alison Benninger, Lane LaPlante, Lacey Frame and Claire Lawson...YOU are the Banfield Foundation, this work is your work, and I am so very proud. To read the full report—or learn how to get involved, visit BanfieldFoundation.org P.S. The dog on the cover of our report was part of a spay/neuter and unchaining event we funded on Navajo Nation...be sure to check out the last page of the report to see how his life has since changed in the very best way! #proudlymars #abetterworldforpets #endingpethomelessness
