✨ A Message from Grace Sterling Stowell, BAGLY's Executive Director ✨ Just a few short weeks ago, we invited you to BAGLY’s Open House, announcing our vision for the future - one where BAGLY will be the beacon of light that transforms the lives and landscapes of LGBTQ youth in Boston and beyond. This week’s election results have many members of our community feeling as though that beacon of light may be fading. Although none of us have the answers to what to expect in the months and years ahead, we do know that the potential outcomes of some of those election results will disproportionately and negatively impact the young queer and trans people that we serve. We, including the young people accessing BAGLY’s programs, may be experiencing a wide range of difficult emotions - confusion, anxiety, anger, fear - as we try to process the election results. When ready, we must harness these feelings and keep finding that light. There's an important distinction between feeling helpless and there not being anything we can do to build power, community, and resilience. As always, BAGLY is dedicated to continuing its support of LGBTQ teens and young adults. Remember, we are still providing: - A Community Center with hundreds of activities, events, and support groups each year; - Free mental health therapy services; - As a safeguard for our future, your Youth Leadership & Advocacy program is supporting the young leaders of today, and the future. Since our beginnings 44 years ago, BAGLY, and our community, is no stranger to weathering difficult political times. We are reminded of the importance of our community’s resilience. And why is community important? Because it can remain steadfast during times of uncertainty. Remember to take care of yourself. Take care of others. And keep being that beacon of light that LGBTQ youth are searching for today, tomorrow, and every day. Continue to be a beacon of hope for LGBTQ Youth - Donate Here: bagly.org/donate
About us
Mission: The Boston Alliance of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Youth (BAGLY, Inc.) is a youth-led, adult-supported social support organization committed to social justice, and creating, sustaining, and advocating for programs, policies, and services for the GLBT youth community. Overview: Founded in 1980, BAGLY provides a safe, non-exploitative environment where members can make friends, discuss experiences, and receive support, information, and referrals about sexual orientation, gender identity, and other issues of concern. BAGLY’s Boston-based programs include social support, leadership development, and health promotion programs. BAGLY serves as the coordinator of the LGBTQ Youth Group Network of Massachusetts, a network of over 15 community-based groups similar to BAGLY throughout the state. BAGLY provides local and national expertise and advocacy in support of programs, policies, and services for LGBTQ youth, through community organizing, public education, and state and national movement building initiatives. Serving over 2,500 youth each year through its programs and activities, BAGLY has served over 30,000 young people since its inception. In addition to LGBTQ youth support, BAGLY also offers two fee-for-service programs: BAGLY Speakers Bureau and BAGLY's Technical Assistance & Training Opportunities. Both are described in detail in the Products & Services tab.

Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming our friends from Boston Children's Hospital & Boston Medical Center (BMC) to BAGLY! This talented cohort of pediatricians joined us for a Speakers Bureau engagement on Tuesday, followed by an in-person tour on Wednesday. We truly appreciate them coming in to learn more about local resources they can provide their clients, outside of the great care they already share with our community! Thanks for spending time with us... come back any time!
