Across the U.S., Latinx-owned businesses have surged to more than 5 million, with a 26% increase in self-employed Latinx workers between 2019-2023. In Florida, where Latinx residents make up 27% of the population and operate over 600,000 businesses, this community is critical to building a more inclusive and sustainable economy. To honor Hispanic Heritage Month, we're spotlighting three standout Hispanic/Latinx-owned B Corps in Florida: The Click Eat: Oscar Herrera's company is tackling plastic waste with eco-friendly, compostable alternatives, proving that small actions can create big environmental impacts. “Our mission is to make sustainability accessible for everyone,” says Herrera. Briyah Institute: Adriana Machado founded Briyah Institute to focus on leadership development and strategic advisory with sustainability at its core. "Business can be a powerful tool for systemic change," says Machado, who emphasizes the importance of purpose-driven collaboration in creating a positive future. Creative Chi: Led by Sirena Andras, Creative Chi amplifies the voices of purpose-driven brands through impactful design and marketing. “We are committed to ensuring that every brand we work with tells a story that centers people and planet,” says Andras. These businesses and so many more are driving innovation and proving that sustainable practices that are integral to community development and business success. On #InternationalPayEquityDay, we’re raising awareness about the gender pay gap, which disproportionately impacts BIPOC women, LGBTQ individuals, and those with disabilities. Pay equity isn’t just about gender—it’s about addressing the intersectional inequalities that affect marginalized communities. 🌎 We’re proud of #BCorps like Unity Web Agency and LimeRed, which are leading the way, creating inclusive and equitable workplaces for all. Together, we can push for systemic change and make pay equity the norm, not the exception. #EqualPay #IntersectionalEquity #ForceForGood

"Restoration is returning to homeostasis, the roots of who we are as people, as a community. It is the north star getting us back to the truth of who we are and why we are here." - Lauren Everett, Content Strategy & Storytelling Manager, B Lab U.S. & Canada. How can BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) liberation be achieved through restoration? Pioneered B Lab U.S. & Canada's Racial Equity teams' 4-tiered strategic plan covering storytelling & narrative, learning journeys, the redistribution of power, and moving beyond DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) statements, we explore how restoration permeates through the work of 4 B Corps and partner organizations— Tech Afrique, B More with Anu, Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and Fairware, supporting their transformational and regenerative work. A continuation of our first documentary in 2022 outlining the work to come, this year, we see the Racial Equity teams work in action, with much more on the horizon. Thank you to our partners at Bond Studio for bringing our vision to life and reminding us of the power of impact storytelling.
