We loved touring the (enormous!) facility (just 15 minutes from campus!) and learning about the many aspects of medical device manufacturing. Administering chemotherapy drugs could introduce an undetectable danger with serious long-term health effects. The Journal of Oncology Pharmacy Practice (JOPP) tested the efficacy of a Closed System Transfer Device's air filtration system to prevent the release of drug vapor and aerosol under extreme conditions, using actual chemotherapy drugs.
