We’re excited to announce that we’re expanding our Community Impact Card Program! You can now nominate a 501c3 non-profit organization serving the Northeast Kansas region to be considered for this program by tagging them in the comments below until September 16, 2023. The top three nominated organizations will then be presented on a ballot, allowing everyone to vote and have a say in which non-profit will become our next community partner. We will announce the winning non-profit on International Credit Union Day, October 19, 2023.

📚 Our employee book club, Beyond the Book Cover, encourages rich discussions, diverse perspectives, and shared insights to help people grow. Our team enjoys volunteering to teach money management to high school students who are preparing to become full-time working adults. In FutureNow: Finance events, students get a profile describing their lives as 26-year-olds. They're assigned a salary, family, home, shopping habits and entertainment preferences. Students are then challenged to make ends meet using their salaries. We volunteer at one of the many booths students will visit, representing items someone must pay for in a month, such as insurance, housing, and more. Jackie and Shalom volunteered at Topeka West High School's FutureNow event at the beginning the month. We also had staff volunteer at Topeka High School last week, and even more are volunteering for Highland Park High School's event this week! Programs like this are essential for personal development, long-term financial health, and the overall economic well-being of society. It helps teens make informed decisions about money, setting the stage for a more financially secure future.
