Avivid Water Technology: a new spin on water treatment.
About us
At Avivid Water, we envision a future with abundant clean water for communities, businesses, and the natural world. Avivid Water Technology, LLC (AWT) is a Colorado company dedicated to enhancing the world’s water resources via the company’s patented TurboCoag® technology. Avivid Water treats industrial wastewater contaminated with emulsified oils, heavy metals, suspended solids, and microorganisms with its electrocoagulation (EC) water treatment system that eliminates the need for chemicals to purify water. We specialize in hard to treat water like produced oil water, acid mine drainage, garment dye water, PFAS treatment, and landfill leachate, replacing chemicals with innovative technology. Avivid Water Technology (AWT) has developed the TurboCoag™ system which is self-cleaning, lower cost, and requires less energy than legacy EC systems. The TurboCoag™ system produces 30-70% less waste sludge when compared to traditional chemical treatment processes. The sludge passes the standard Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) analysis and can be disposed of in a conventional landfill. The treatment process acts as a biocide, killing harmful microorganisms, while sequestering heavy metals and soluble organic compounds. Treated water can frequently be used with no further processing. Avivid's patented wastewater treatment solution meets the demands of customers that need to reduce pollution abatement costs, comply with EPA regulations, and reduce water consumption/waste in response to the growing demand in the water market and quickly diminishing water resources.

Hydraulic fracturing (fracking) uses large volumes of water mixed with chemicals to extract oil and gas from underground rock formations. This process generates flowback and produced water, which can contain a mixture of chemicals, salts, heavy metals, and radioactive materials. Proper treatment is essential before this water can be safely reused or discharged. According to the EPA, treatment of fracking wastewater typically involves several steps: - Pretreatment: To remove suspended solids and oil. - Chemical treatment: To reduce harmful chemicals and salts. - Advanced filtration or distillation: To remove dissolved contaminants, including radioactive materials and heavy metals. - Disposal or reuse: Treated water may be reused for future fracking operations, or if adequately treated, discharged under strict regulatory permits. Regulation under the Clean Water Act (CWA) requires permits for any direct discharge into surface waters, ensuring treated fracking wastewater meets water quality standards. At Avivid we can treat even the most challenging water pollution problem with our innovative electrocoagulation solution. We've solved the problems of electrocoagulation's past and are bringing water treatment into the future. #WaterTreatment #FrackingWater #CleanWaterAct #EPA #WaterRecycling #water

Did you know the top five sources of water pollution in the U.S.? Here’s a breakdown of these sources and how the CWA addresses each: - Agricultural Runoff - Fertilizers, pesticides, and animal waste from farms wash into nearby water bodies during rainstorms, leading to nutrient pollution and harmful algal blooms. This runoff can create "dead zones" like the one in the Gulf of Mexico, where low oxygen levels make it difficult for marine life to survive. Regulation: Agricultural runoff is considered non-point source pollution and isn’t directly regulated by the CWA. The CWA's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit regulates larger concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) as point sources. - Industrial Discharges - Factories release heavy metals, chemicals, and toxic substances directly into rivers and lakes. For example, textile plants can introduce harmful dyes and solvents into the water, threatening ecosystems and drinking water supplies. Regulation: The CWA regulates industrial discharges through the NPDES permit program, which sets strict limits on pollutants that industries can release. It mandates the use of the Best Available Technology (BAT) to minimize contamination, ensuring industries monitor and report their effluent. - Urban Stormwater - Rainwater flowing over urban landscapes picks up oil, chemicals, dog waste, and trash. Urban areas experience this problem after heavy rains and stormwater carries pollutants directly into streams and rivers. Regulation: The Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) program under the CWA requires cities and municipalities to obtain NPDES permits for their stormwater systems. - Wastewater and Sewage - Untreated or poorly treated sewage can introduce pathogens, nutrients, and chemicals into water bodies, especially when aging infrastructure leads to overflows. Many U.S. cities face this issue, contaminating local waterways with bacteria and viruses. Regulation: The CWA requires that wastewater treatment plants meet strict secondary treatment standards through NPDES permits. It also addresses sewage overflows, mandating cities to upgrade infrastructure and manage combined sewer systems to prevent untreated sewage from entering water bodies. - Plastic and Trash Pollution - Single-use plastics, bags, and other debris often make their way into rivers and oceans, breaking down into microplastics that harm marine life and enter the food chain. Regulation: Plastic pollution isn't specifically regulated under the CWA though the Act’s Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program evaluates water bodies that fail to meet water quality standards, including those impacted by debris. #CleanWaterNow #WaterPollutionSolutions #AvividWater #PollutionPrevention #EcoAwareness #CWA

The Earth's water cycle is a continuous process that powers life on our planet! Here's how it works: 1️⃣ Evaporation & Transpiration: Water from oceans, lakes, and rivers heats up, turning into water vapor and rising into the atmosphere. Plants also release water vapor through transpiration. 2️⃣ Condensation: As the water vapor rises, it cools and condenses into tiny droplets, forming clouds. This happens when warm, moist air meets cooler temperatures high in the atmosphere. ☁ 3️⃣ Precipitation: When the droplets in clouds become heavy enough, they fall back to Earth as rain, snow, sleet, or hail. This redistributes fresh water to ecosystems around the globe. 4️⃣ Runoff & Infiltration: Water collects in rivers, lakes, and oceans, or it infiltrates the ground, replenishing aquifers and groundwater supplies. This water is absorbed by plants or continues through the cycle. The water cycle regulates climate, replenishes freshwater supplies, and sustains all living organisms. 🌿🔄💦 #WaterCycle #EarthScience #Hydrology #WaterConservation #ClimateEducation #SustainableFuture #STEM

Landfills are more than just waste dumps—they're a source of toxic leachate, a harmful liquid formed when water passes through decomposing waste. This leachate contains hazardous substances like heavy metals, chemicals, and pathogens, which often seep into nearby waterways, putting wildlife at serious risk. When leachate infiltrates groundwater or streams, it introduces toxins that can poison fish, amphibians, and other aquatic life. Heavy metals and toxic chemicals accumulate in the tissues of animals, leading to health issues and affecting the entire food chain. Further, toxic water can degrade wetlands, rivers, and other vital habitats, disrupting ecosystems and forcing species out of their natural environments. Without proper treatment, landfill leachate can devastate local ecosystems, leading to loss of biodiversity and long-term environmental damage. At Avivid, we’re committed to developing advanced solutions like electrocoagulation to remove these harmful pollutants from water, protecting both wildlife and the environment. At Avivid, we’re transforming water treatment with electrocoagulation (EC)—a cutting-edge process that effectively and efficiently removes heavy metals from water while offering valuable by-products. How Electrocoagulation Works: Electrodes introduce an electric current into the water. This destabilizes suspended heavy metals (like lead, arsenic, copper, and mercury) by neutralizing their electrical charge. The heavy metals form into larger flocs or particles that are easier to separate from the water and settle to the bottom. The metal-rich particles (now in solid form) are filtered out of the water, leaving it cleaner and safer for reuse. The separated sludge from the EC process is not waste—it’s a potential resource. The metal-rich sludge can be reclaimed and mined for valuable minerals like copper, zinc, and other metals. This adds a revenue-generating opportunity to the disposal process. Sustainability Benefits: No harmful chemicals: Unlike traditional treatments, EC requires only electricity, reducing the need for chemical additives. Lower operational costs: EC is energy-efficient and requires minimal maintenance, making it cost-effective for industrial and municipal use. Electrocoagulation offers a dual benefit: cleaner water and a chance to recover valuable resources from wastewater!
