In The News: vineyard vines has announced its collaboration with Jeep on a capsule collection that celebrates their shared passion for adventure. The collection will launch online (vineyardvines.com) and in select stores along with a chance to win a custom vineyard vines #Jeep Gladiator, among other prizes. The limited-edition vineyard vines X Jeep capsule collection features apparel in soft fabrics and colorways reminiscent of a beach sunset. Fans can look forward to stylish and comfortable hats, sweatshirts, shirts, and shorts for men and women, all embodying the laid-back vibe of both brands. The collaboration pays tribute to the early days of vineyard vines when co-founders Shep and Ian Murray would travel across New England selling ties out of their own Jeep Wrangler. "Now, partnering with the Jeep brand for an exclusive collection, road tour, and giveaway is the ultimate ‘Every Day Should Feel This Good' moment for us," said Shep Murray, co-founder of vineyard vines. "We have been chasing our dream of vineyard vines in a Jeep since we were able to drive." A custom vineyard vines Jeep Gladiator will embark on a promotional road trip, stopping in select locations to showcase the collection, host exclusive events, and promote the custom Jeep vehicle X vineyard vines enter-to-win sweepstakes. "This special collaboration creates an authentic bridge, allowing each brand's community to demonstrate its love of both brands at the time when those golden New England summers begin," said Kim Adams House, head of licensing, merchandising, and multicultural marketing at Stellantis. Jeep and vineyard vines were brought together by licensing agent IMG. In The News: AAA projects that 70.9 million travelers will head 50 miles or more from home over the Independence Day holiday travel period. "With summer vacations in full swing and the flexibility of remote work, more Americans are taking extended trips around Independence Day," said Paula Twidale, Senior Vice President of AAA Travel. "We anticipate this July 4th week will be the busiest ever with an additional 5.7 million people traveling compared to 2019." Gas prices are lower than last year when the national average was $3.53. Pump prices will likely continue going down leading up to Independence Day, according to AAA research. The lower gas prices may prompt more people to travel by car.    "Drivers in large metro areas can expect the worst traffic delays on Wednesday, July 3rd, as they leave town, and Sunday, July 7th, as they return," said Bob Pishue, transportation analyst at INRIX, who worked with AAA on this body of research. See the infographic below from Automoblog, which has tips to help ensure you have a safe and fun trip for the 4th. "Road trips over the holiday week could take up to 67% longer than normal, Pishue cautioned. "Travelers should monitor 511 services, local news stations, and traffic apps for up-to-the-minute road conditions."

Connected cars are forecasted to make up 95 percent of all vehicles on the road by 2030, with each one generating an estimated 25 gigabytes of data per hour. How that data may be leveraged for new revenue channels through value-added features is a prime area of focus for the #automotive industry. Achyut Jajoo, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Manufacturing and Automotive at Salesforce, joins us to discuss the relationship between connected cars and the Automotive Cloud, how the industry can enhance its communication with customers, and the promise that software-defined vehicles represent. Achyut also takes us back to 1999 to the founding of Salesforce in San Francisco and reminisces about learning to drive in his youth.
