Grateful to the Magna International team for inviting us to their Troy, Michigan, facility earlier today for a special Tech Day! We heard from CEO Swamy Kotagiri, along with Tom Rucker, who oversees Powertrain, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mirrors, and Lighting, and Richard Seoane, VP of Operations and Business Development for Magna's Thermal Business Unit.  We experienced Magna's thermal cameras in action with an AEB pedestrian detection demonstration. Afterward, we saw the ClearView solution, which combines interior and exterior mirrors, cameras, electronics, and software to assist with towing, including reducing blind spots around the trailer. Later on, we rode in a demonstrator vehicle with EtelligentCommand. Magna's test vehicle contained the dedicated hybrid drive DHD Plus at the front and the eDrive Mid at the rear axle. The system is designed for plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and full hybrid applications (HEV). As described by Magna, EtelligentCommand uses advanced software-based operating strategies, enabling future-oriented functions for uncompromised performance, efficiency, safety, and convenience. Thank you to the Magna team for this fantastic opportunity today to be onsite and experience this cutting-edge technology!

During October, Subaru of America and its participating retailers will provide over $3 million in financial assistance to local animal shelters through grants administered by the ASPCA. The funds will help cover the costs associated with veterinary care and preparing animals for their new forever homes. "The Subaru community has a true passion for animal welfare, which is genuinely and enthusiastically matched by our retailers with their support of local organizations through adoption events and fundraising initiatives," said Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America, Inc. Subaru retailers will host adoption, microchipping, and other events to help ensure pets can find loving homes. The automaker will also donate to the ASPCA with the purchase of select items from Subaru Parts Online.    "Working with dedicated partners like the ASPCA, we take great pride in helping dogs, cats, and other pets find loving homes and seeing the difference they can make in people's lives," Bethke said. Likewise, Subaru will celebrate its sixth annual National Make a Dog's Day on October 22nd. The automaker invites dog lovers to do something extra special for their companions and share these moments on social media using the #MakeADogsDay hashtag. "The ASPCA is proud to be the national charity partner for the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, helping to support Subaru, its retailers, and hundreds of animal welfare organizations across the country as they assist tens of thousands of shelter animals in need," said Matt Bershadker, ASPCA President and CEO.
