Voice for the Army - Support for the Soldier
About us
The Association of the United States Army is a nonprofit educational and professional development association serving America’s Total Army, our Soldiers, Army civilians, and their families; our industry partners, and supporters of a strong national defense. AUSA provides a voice for the Army, supports the Soldier, and honors those who have served in order to advance the security of the nation. AUSA educates its members, the public, industry, and Congress about the critical nature of land warfare and the Army’s central role in national defense. AUSA informs its members, our communities, and Congress about issues affecting America’s Army and the Soldiers who serve in the Regular Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve. AUSA connects the Army to the American people at the national, regional, and chapter levels.

Despite the creation of interior lines in the Indo-Pacific area of responsibility by employing land power below the level of armed conflict, a large contingent of I Corps forces remains at home station throughout a given year recovering, training and posturing for future missions. Massing combat power at decisive points begins before forces ever enter the theater. When the transition to crisis or conflict occurs, forces at home station must be ready to deploy at a scale potentially not seen by the U.S. Army in over 20 years. This potential magnitude of deployment operations requires competencies that atrophied over two decades of focus on the global war on terrorism. #ReadMore in ARMY magazine... https://loom.ly/zByQfzI America's First Corps (I Corps) #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #corps #missions #crisis #beready

Military-to-civilian transition programs should shift their focus to employment and improve oversight, according to a recent report from the RAND Corp. “Transition aids, such as training, education, career advice, and job support, can boost veterans’ job prospects and help them find or develop fulfilling careers in civilian life,” the report found. “However, as prior RAND research has shown, many veterans still feel that they are unable to leverage their military skills in their civilian jobs.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/NxPKJqw #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #education #careeradvice #veteran #careers #militaryskills

Staff members of the Association of the U.S. Army paid tribute to America’s fallen service members July 23 during a visit to Arlington National Cemetery. The team laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which since 1921 has provided a final resting place for one of America’s unidentified World War I service members. Unknowns from later wars were added in 1958 and 1984, and the iconic memorial, guarded around the clock by sentinels from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard), is a place of mourning and reflection. #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/3G3Ocg0 Joint Task Force-National Capital Region & U.S. Army Military District of Washington #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #arlingtonnationalcemetery #goldstar #servicemembers #oldguard #arlington #unknownsoldier #arlingtoncemetery

To boost expertise in space operations, the US Army is working to establish a new space MOS and branch, said Lt. Gen. Sean Gainey, commander of U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command. Work also is underway to push critical space capabilities down to the tactical level. In remarks July 23 at a Coffee Series breakfast hosted by the Association of the U.S. Army, Gainey acknowledged that the demand for troops who are experts in the space domain exceeds the capacity, and the tasks are being filled by soldiers in air and missile defense MOSs, increasing their operational tempo. #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/APFlNi0 #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #space #expertise #operation #domain

Influenced by images of Ukrainian soldiers in dug-in fighting positions, the Oklahoma National Guard is building a trench warfare training area to provide its citizen-soldiers more realistic combat scenarios. Officials broke ground June 2 at the Oklahoma National Guard’s Camp Gruber Training Center, 60 miles southeast of Tulsa, and units are expected to be able to conduct trench warfare training as early as November, according to a news release. #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/q1e864M #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #ground #trenchwarfare #citizensoldiers #ukraine #OKGuard
