Foreign adversaries are targeting U.S. Army personnel on social media, job sites and gaming chats, the deputy Army chief of staff for intelligence, G-2, warned in a message to the force. Issued in June, the All-Army Activities message, or ALARACT, warns that foreign adversaries are “increasingly” using social media and fake job offers to gain sensitive information from Army personnel and their families. #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/UFzueOE #AUSAorg #USArmy #socialmedia #bevigilant #cybersecurity

Key issues for military families—and their service members’ propensity to continue serving—were inextricably linked to their well-being in 2023, according to a new report from the Military Family Advisory Network. “Our country, our national security, our democracy counts on those who serve,” the group’s 2023 Military Family Support Programming Survey found. “They count on their families, and this report has shown that their well-being—the whole family—and propensity to recommend military service are not mutually exclusive.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/kadY5_s #AUSAorg #USArmy #family #milfam #milspouse #militaryfamilies #militaryservice #support #familysupport #member #advisory

More than 160 years after participating in what’s now known as the Great Locomotive Chase, Pvts. Philip Shadrach and George Wilson were posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. The two Civil War heroes were recognized with the nation’s highest award for valor by President Joe Biden during a July 3 ceremony at the White House. “This was a long time coming,” Biden said during the ceremony, as he described the Great Locomotive Chase as “one of the most daring operations in the entire Civil War.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/jpA81b4 #MedalofHonor #honor #warheroes #warhero #USArmy

The United States is struggling to outpace its global adversaries in the information domain, and a whole-of-society response is needed, the special envoy and coordinator of the State Department’s Global Engagement Center said July 2 at a Hot Topic event hosted by the Association of the U.S. Army. “In the information domain, our adversaries are devoting more attention [to gaining the information advantage], and we are not winning,” James Rubin said during a keynote address. “The information threat is not something that can be solved by even a whole-of-government response, it needs a whole-of-society response.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/OlBm81A #AUSAorg #USArmy #informationwarfare #globalengagement #theinformationadvantage #domain #government
