The ATL Airport District team had an amazing time at Georgia Department of Economic Development’s 2024 Governor's Tourism Conference earlier this week! 🌟 Held at the stunning Signia by Hilton Atlanta, we enjoyed engaging breakout sessions and opportunities to connect with friends old and new. Governor Brian Kemp announced that Georgia broke tourism records for the second year in a row by welcoming an astounding 171 million visitors who spent $43.6 billion, generating a total economic impact of $79.7 billion and supporting over 463,400 jobs last year! A heartfelt moment came when Cookie Smoak, our outgoing president, was honored with a College Park Skyhawks jersey in recognition of her outstanding career in tourism. As she prepares for retirement at the end of this month, we reflect on her invaluable contributions and leadership. She will be greatly missed! We also introduced our incoming president, Mercedes Miller who is ready to take on the exciting challenges ahead at the ATL Airport District CVB. Thank you, Cookie, for your legacy and leadership!
