Armed Services YMCA San Diego Back to School Bash is coming up on Saturday August 3rd, and we could not hold an event for more than 500 families without the support of several generous community partners. We would like to thank American Legion San Diego Post 6 for providing 250 backpacks filled with school supplies to be distributed to military children at the event. An extra thank you to Frank Manthei for his leadership on the backpack drive! Summer moves can be particularly challenging for military families with young children due to moving duty stations, disruptions to school routines and social connections. Armed Services YMCA San Diego looks forward to helping local military families create a village and network of support, in conjunction with our friends and partners. #militarykids #militaryfamilies #backtoschoolbash #backtoschool #militarylife #backpackdrive #schoolsupport #backtoschool #community #military Jamie Inarda Lorenzo Inzunza

Thank you, San Diego Seals for being a fantastic partner to military families!
Today, the San Diego Seals front office had the privilege of volunteering at the Armed Services YMCA San Diego. We assisted in assembling meal kits for military members and their families. It is truly rewarding to give back to those families in our own backyard. A big thank you to Russ Thompson for helping organize a great morning! 🇺🇸 #volunteering #communityservice #givingback

Armed Services YMCA San Diego is thankful for the many ways that U.S. Bank works to better the San Diego community - through meaningful partnership, committed volunteerism, and impactful grantmaking. We are proud recipients of a Community Possible grant. We look forward to working to improve financial literacy and growing workforce development within our military community with support from the U.S. Bank Foundation.
The U.S. Bank Community Possible program spans giving and employee engagement, and I’m thrilled to share two fantastic examples of how we support the communities we serve through both philanthropy and volunteerism. Among the 350 nonprofits receiving a total of $11.75 million in recent Community Possible grants from the U.S. Bank Foundation are the Girl Scouts of Colorado and Armed Services YMCA San Diego, which provide valuable programs to help boost financial literacy and workforce development in their communities. These organizations also enjoy working with U.S. Bank employees who give their time and talent as volunteers. Thanks to Erica Opstad, Karen Kervin, Enrique Meza, Marcia Romero, Amanda Gregory and many others at U.S. Bank who truly make #CommunityPossible. https://lnkd.in/gkftabm2
