During this mission, two significant agreements were signed: San Antonio International Airport (SAT) and Queretaro Airport are set to enhance connectivity between our two regions. Alamo Colleges District partnered with a Consortium of Universities in Querétaro, creating new educational pathways and workforce development opportunities for students and professionals. Thank you to Mayor Ron Nirenberg for your leadership and leading the delegation to a successful trip. Thank you to Shahrzad (Sherry) Dowlatshahi for your leadership and for making sure that the trip was memorable. Thank you to all the incredible officials and institutions that traveled with the delegation. What an incredible experience! I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the delegation from San Antonio, TX to Querétaro, Mexico, proudly representing AEM San Antonio. Asociacion de Empresarios Mexicanos
Welcoming Santiago de Queretaro as the newest friendship city to San Antonio, TX. The agreement was signed between Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Mayor Bernardo Nava in the presence of the Governor of the State of Queretaro, Mauricio Kuri and San Antonio Council members Adriana Rocha Garcia, Ph.D. and Phyllis Viagran. I am especially thankful for the warmth and hospitality extended to us by the State of Queretaro through their International Relations Office and its Coordinator Nury González Rivas . The teamwork and spirit of collaboration with the State of Queretaro and the municipalities of Queretaro and Corregidora set the stage for a successful mission. Thanks to diverse initiatives taking place among our institutions on both sides as well as historical and heritage connections between the two regions, a large delegation from San Antonio was in Queretaro on Sept 20 to participate in the opening of #OtroLadodelEspejo exhibit at the Queretaro Museum of Art, an exhibition featuring 23 San Antonio Latino artists. This was an initiative that was dreamed up and brought to reality by local San Antonio residents and citizen diplomats Lionel Sosa and Kathy Sosa who successfully pulled together a group of volunteers to work on diverse aspects of this project from fundraising to marketing and to creating a cultural program with scholars and artists all in a phenomenal collaboration with Dr Antonio Arelle Director of Queretaro Museum of Art. But I am especially proud of the City of San Antonio of San Antonio for also playing a pivotal role in this exhibit with leadership and financial support making it possible to showcase San Antonio through arts and culture. Thank you Lori Houston Krystal Jones, Ron Nirenberg and Adriana Rocha Garcia, Ph.D. The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) Director Jesus Saenz signed an agreement with the Queretaro Airport, also witnessed by Governor Kuri, & reminded us of the role VivaAerobus has played connecting our two regions and making these phenomenal exchanges possible. Thank you to the teams at both airports for working together to host an amazing event at the unforgettable Franco American Campus of the Universidad Aeronáutica en Querétaro / UNAQ The Alamo Colleges District Chancellor Mike Flores signed an agreement with the State of Queretaro Secretary of Education on behalf of a Consortium of seven Queretaro higher education institutions, cementing future collaboration and academic exchange. The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Tech Bloc & AEM San Antonio. Asociacion de Empresarios Mexicanos led a successful business delegation. Thank you Luis Rodriguez Ileana Gonzalez and Victor Reyna, MBA for your enthusiastic participation and leadership. Thank you Nury González Rivas! Thank you also to Marc Anderson Visit San Antonio for bringing a tourism marketing mission to QRO. Shout out to City of San Antonio Economic Development Department and its Global Engagement. Unforgettable Day!

This past Thursday some of us Frost bankers had the opportunity to attend AEM San Antonio. Asociacion de Empresarios Mexicanos’ Luncheon at The Dominion Country Club. In this occasion, Taco Palenque’s founder Juan Francisco “Pancho” Ochoa shared his story on how a #mexicanentrepreneur was able to identify a #businessopportunity, not once but twice, in what became “home away from home.” It was also great to see some community leaders supporting the event. Feel free to look up Pancho Ochoa’s story! Shahrzad (Sherry) Dowlatshahi #aemluncheon #frostcommunity #entrepreneurship
