We've added another story to the "News" section of the CalNEXT website! This story is about the findings in the “Commercial and Multifamily CO2 Heat Pump Water Heater Market Study and Field Demonstration” Final Report. Researched by ASK Energy, Inc. and Ecotope, Inc., this study finds that replacing gas water heaters in mulitfamily buildings with central heat pump water heaters has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1.7 million tons per year and produce $350 million in overall benefits annually. Read our article to learn more about this technology and the impact it has on #EnergyEfficiency and decarbonizing California! #CalNEXT #Decarbonization #CleanEnergy #HeatPump

🍂 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿: Fall Time Change Next Weekend! 🍂 Don’t forget to set your clocks back one-hour 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 as we “fall back” for daylight savings time. Our clocks will fall back at 𝟮 𝗮.𝗺. (𝗣𝗦𝗧) 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗡𝗼𝘃. 𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰. This extra hour not only gives us more daylight in the morning but also offers some great opportunities for energy savings! 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀: Maximize Natural Light: Use the extra morning daylight to reduce the need for artificial lighting. Adjust Your Thermostat: With cooler mornings, consider lowering your thermostat to save on heating costs. Unplug Devices: Take this time to unplug any unnecessary electronics to reduce phantom energy usage. #DaylightSavingTime #EnergySavings #Sustainability #FallBack

Last week, I had the privilege of attending and presenting at the Northwest Strategic Energy Management Collaborative conference at the iconic Pacific Tower in #Seattle. It was an inspiring event filled with insightful discussions and innovative ideas. I was honored to be part of the planning committee and to present alongside Lana Stern and Robert Greenwald on ‘AI in Strategic Energy Management’. (Scan the QR code in the attached document to read the full product!) It was a fantastic opportunity to share our insights and learn from others in the field. A special shoutout to Suzi Asmus at Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA), Kathleen Belkhayat at Energy Trust of Oregon, Kelsey Lewis, CEM at Snohomish County PUD, and all the amazing folks who traveled, planned, and participated. Your hard work and dedication made this event a huge success! It’s always great to see familiar faces and meet new ones who are just as passionate about energy management. Orange Shirt Day: Honoring Every Child Matters 🧡 Today, we wear orange to honor the survivors of residential schools and remember those who never made it home. Orange Shirt Day is a powerful reminder of the importance of acknowledging and addressing the historical injustices faced by Indigenous communities. Why DEI Matters: 💙 Diversity: Embracing diverse perspectives enriches our understanding and fosters a more inclusive environment. 💛 Equity: Ensuring fair treatment, access, and opportunities for all, especially those historically marginalized. 💚 Inclusion: Creating spaces where everyone feels valued, heard, and respected. How We Can Make a Difference: ✏ Educate Ourselves: Learn about the history and impact of residential schools. 🙌 Support Indigenous Voices: Amplify and support Indigenous-led initiatives and organizations. 🕰 Reflect and Act: Reflect on our own biases and take actionable steps towards reconciliation and inclusion.
