🌍 Today marks Parkinson’s National Day of Action during September's Organic Month—a vital opportunity to confront a pressing health crisis that affects many. 🧪 Paraquat, a highly toxic herbicide linked to the onset of Parkinson’s disease, remains legal in the US, even though it’s banned in 58 countries. This raises serious questions about our government's commitment to public health and safety. 👩🌾 Research paints a concerning picture: farmworkers and rural communities with high exposure to paraquat face significantly increased risks of developing Parkinson’s disease. The evidence is compelling, and the implications for our agricultural practices are profound. 🌱 But that’s not all—paraquat-resistant weeds are on the rise. We can no longer ignore this dual threat to both human health and sustainable farming practices. 📖 Dive deeper into this issue by checking out our latest blog! We’ve compiled studies, insights, and actionable steps that everyone can take to advocate for safer practices and healthier communities. 👉https://lnkd.in/e8qxxjBh #Act4PD #ParkinsonsAwareness #OrganicMonth #Paraquat #HealthCrisis #SustainableFarming

✨Exciting News! Last week marked a significant milestone for democracy as the American Sustainable Business Council's Business for Democracy officially endorsed the Raskin, Beyer, Welch Ranked Choice Voting Act. This is an incredible step towards enhancing the voting experience for millions of Americans. 🗳️ Imagine a voting system where your voice truly matters! The Ranked Choice Voting Act aims to introduce ranked-choice voting in congressional elections, allowing voters to rank candidates in order of preference. This means more meaningful choices and a greater chance of electing representatives who reflect the diverse views of their constituents. 🤝 This endorsement signals a growing recognition of the importance of electoral reform in fostering a healthy democracy and economy. With ranked-choice voting, we can reduce negative campaigning and promote collaboration among candidates. It’s time to empower voters and create a more inclusive political landscape!
