AGFC works with private landowners to open new water for angling, read here: https://lnkd.in/gHi7T-5G Anglers looking for a new honey hole may be able to score some fishing time at a few new private waters this year, thanks to three landowners who joined the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Public Access to Private Waters initiative. 🎣 Public access to water is abundant in Arkansas, but there’s always room to add a few more places to wet a line in The Natural State, so the AGFC developed a practice in its new Conservation Incentive Program to do just that. #agfc #conservation #landowners #privatewaters #publicaccess #cip

Wildlife-inspired murals draw attention to Little Rock nature center, read here: https://lnkd.in/gvM8eYgj The Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center in Little Rock provided plenty of canvas space for a recently unveiled collection of murals. 🎨 Work by Fayetteville artist Jason Jones was revealed to the public June 24 on four exterior walls of the center at 602 President Clinton Ave. in the River Market District. The images feature fauna native to Arkansas, including mockingbirds, crayfish, opossum, catfish, eastern wild turkey, bobcats and other species, all set among backgrounds of natural habitats drawn by Jones. #agfc #conservation #mural #naturecenter #nativefauna

Arkansas has 69,000 miles of unpaved roads, according to the state’s Department of Agriculture, and there are also many more miles of unpaved roads that crisscross national forest lands. They may soon turn into an economic engine fueled by bicycle tourism. Organizers with the Ozark Foundation hope the Arkansas Graveler will become an annual event. The six-day ride stretches 340 miles from the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville to the Arkansas State University campus in Jonesboro. AGFC to break down barriers with federal grant, read here: https://lnkd.in/gcMAfzKq Thanks to a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law investment of $2 million from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be able to tear down five stream barriers on the Robinson Fork of Little River, restoring stream connectivity to more than 150 miles of aquatic habitat in south Arkansas. The work will replace five low-water road crossings on property owned by Weyerhaeuser and Polk County with railcar bridges to open up year-round access for fish to move freely throughout the stream. 🐟 #agfc #conservation #federalgrant #streambarriers #aquatichabitat
