In an effort led by ARPA’s Future Leaders Vice-Chair, Helaina Houston of Salt River Materials Group, and Chair Brian Clark of Southwest Asphalt, 16 volunteers from the Future Leaders and Community Relations Committees recently visited the Quinlan Equine Academy and Rescue. This sanctuary has been dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of horses since its founding in 2011. Following the unexpected passing of the owner and a shortage of summertime volunteers, the committees mobilized to support the rescue's operations. Tasks such as cleaning stalls, maintaining water sources, and assisting with shelter maintenance were undertaken to address backlogs exacerbated by Arizona's challenging climate. These efforts are vital in ensuring the sanctuary continues to provide essential care and rehabilitation for rescue horses in a nurturing environment. Thank you to all of our amazing members who stepped up on a very hot Saturday morning to make a difference! A special thanks to CrossRoads Technologies Consulting Group for bringing water and snacks for the volunteers. Exciting News from the Governor's Office! We're thrilled to announce the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) & Arizona Rock Products Association (ARPA) Kaizen project has been nominated for the "Hobbs Highlight" Award! This recognition wouldn't have been possible without the leadership of ADOT Director Jennifer Toth and the ADOT team of Greg Byres, Steve Boschen, Matt Moul, and Jesús A. Sandoval-Gil M.S., Ph.D., P.E.. ADOT’s willingness to discuss solutions to common challenges facing the state and industry has developed into a tremendous opportunity under Director Toth’s guidance. A Special Message from the Governor's Office: “Congratulations on the successful problem-solving event with ADOT and Arizona Rock Products Association (ARPA). This team's hard work and dedication have truly made a difference. Your achievement will be considered for the Yearly ‘Hobbs Highlights’ Award.
