American Red Cross California Gold Country Region reposted this
With this years American Red Cross California Gold Country Region Leadership Development Camp over and the kitchen officially closed, I am back home and sharing some key points. After being founded in 1881 by Clara Barton to help our troops, this non-profit organization that relies 100% on donations (yes that means none of your tax dollars), has grown into a National relief organization. It is made up of 90% volunteers (me being one of many), and 90% of the donated money goes to our public in need after natural disasters or home fires. These young leaders at the camp are now going back to their high schools and growing their respective Leadership Clubs to bring about the next generation of volunteers, staff, and leadership at the American Red Cross. Final thought is I just didn't cook, I was able to Listen, Engage, Admire, and Develop, while interacting with our future. Please feel free to share what programs you have at your company or organization that helps foster this environment for the next generation of Leaders. #lead #leadership #future #development #inspire Rebecca Amico Gabriela Perez Albarracin Anette Smith Jacquelyn Clites

How do you give back to your community? I switched hats this week from Induction demos for SMUD to overseeing the kitchen for the American Red Cross California Gold Country Region, Youth Leadership Development Camp. Many hands make light work and we had some first time pancake makers keeping the campers fed 🤙☘️ #volunteer #giveback #community

Do Your Part, Be Water Smart - and that means teaching your kids about water safety, too! Today’s lesson: Reach or Throw, Don’t Go! Reach or throw an object to help someone in trouble in the water to safety. Never go in the water to try to help.
