  • We love trench workers. Why? They are the backbone of our communities. They dig deep to lay the foundations for the utilities that keep our cities running. Every time you turn on a light, take a shower, or cook dinner, a trench worker made that possible. Their work is vital, yet often goes unnoticed. So today seems like the perfect time to celebrate these unsung heroes. It's because of trench workers that our daily routines go on uninterrupted. And they deserve our recognition and gratitude. To all the trench workers out there, thank you for your unwavering commitment. You truly make a difference every day. We hope you have a safe and well-deserved day off. You make the world go round. Happy Labor Day! #LaborDay

  • Most construction businesses fail. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, of the 69,296 private construction firms that started operation in 2001, 56% were still around three years later. 26.6% made it to year 10. And only 17.2% were still in operation 20 years later. That’s a failure rate of nearly 82.8%. So, when it comes to your career, it's important to trust in a company that has endured. Because most contractors don't make it. Anchor is getting close to the big 4-0 with no signs of slowing down. Employing hundreds of employees. Some who have moved from digging in the ditch to becoming competent Project Managers or Estimators. So the opportunities for growth here are endless. If you're looking to make your next move, give Anchor a shot. We’ll show you why we've been around for decades. And what we have in store for the future. Join a company that's built to last. Your future deserves it. #construction #anchorconstruction #utilities

  • There's 1.7 trillion dollars in student loan debt. But that's not the scary number. Here's what is: For every 5 trades workers who retire, only 2 replace them. And this trend has been happening for over a decade. While demand for trades workers keeps rising, the supply keeps shrinking. So what does that mean for you? It means there are tons of opportunities in the trades. Think about it: A career with great pay. Job security. Clear path for growth. And no massive student loans weighing you down. Instead, you get hands-on experience and skills that are always in demand. The trades are the backbone of our infrastructure. They build our roads, bridges, and utilities that we use every day. By joining the trades, you're not just finding a job, you're building a career. A career that can last a lifetime. A career where your skills are respected and needed. So if you're looking for a stable and rewarding career, consider the trades. The opportunities are endless, and the rewards are great. Build your future today. Join the trades. #construction #anchorconstruction #utilities

  • Culture is everything. It’s not just about projects or deadlines. It's about the people who bring those projects to life. Every person, in the field or behind a screen, shapes who we are. Our culture is built through every handshake and meeting. It's the camaraderie on the job site and teamwork in the office. It’s the shared commitment to excellence and pride in our work. This unity and dedication drive us forward. It ensures that every project meets the highest standards. Culture is in the laughter during breaks and teamwork on tough jobs. It's in the respect we show each other and our passion for work. When we all work toward the same goals, amazing things happen. Our culture is not just a part of our business. It is our business. It's the backbone of each success and the foundation of every future project. This is why our culture matters. Because it’s in everything we do. #construction #anchorconstruction #utilities

  • Safety during the summer months is really important. So here are some helpful tips for when it gets really hot: 1. Always remember to drink water. Drink before, during, and after work. Water keeps your body cool and helps you stay hydrated. 2. Take breaks in the shade. Resting in the shade lets your body cool down and recharge. It’s like giving yourself a little reset button. 3. Wear lightweight and breathable clothes. Loose-fitting clothing helps your body stay cool and comfortable. 4. Don't forget the sunscreen. It protects your skin from harmful UV rays. A sunburn can sneak up on you, so applying sunscreen is a must. 5. Know the signs of a heat-related illness. Feeling dizzy, weak, or having a headache? That means it’s time to take action. The more you prepare, the better you can reduce the chance of facing a heat-related illness. Stay cool and stay safe this summer! #safety #anchorconstruction #utilities

Clark joined Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) in celebrating a significant milestone in the construction of the WMATA Northern Bus Garage as we begin erecting the facility’s steel structure. 🚍 With the completion of concrete foundations, the advancement of slab-on-grade placement across the bus storage level, and underground plumbing and electrical installation, crews are starting to erect the steel structure that will house WMATA’s next-generation bus fleet. #ClarkBuildsDC

General Counsel/Director of Risk Management. I solve problems before they become problems.

Everyone had a first day somewhere: school, job, living arrangement. Somewhere. It is so vital for success with new hires that we remember that. The building may be strange (where is the bathroom, the copier, the kitchen). The people are unfamiliar: "Don't forget to stop and see Matt." What? Who is Matt?? The lingo may be unique. (insert Office Space TPS report reference here). This uncertainty, compounded by the stress of simply proving yourself and meeting new colleagues, makes for a tough go, even with seasoned new personnel. HR does its part, but the most critical welcoming committee has to be the new hire's teammates. This welcoming attitude is the true first impression a new hire gets and can be the difference between long term success and short term failure. Make a new hire feel at home at your business and it will become their home.
