Meet the APTA Officers for 2024-25! APTA members voted for the 2024-2025 slate of officers during this week's 2024 APTA TRANSform in Anaheim, CA. Mj Maynard, CEO, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, is APTA chair for 2024-2025. Leanne Redden, executive director of Chicagoland's Regional Transportation Authority of Northeastern Illinois (RTA), is vice chair. Outgoing APTA Chair Michele Wong-Krause (past chair of DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit)) will serve as APTA immediate past chair. Jeffrey Wharton, director, contracts and technical services, SYSTRA Engineering, continues as secretary-treasurer. The "Executive Roundtable: Empowering Women Leaders" session at #APTAtransform24 just wrapped. The panel discussed how the transportation industry is facing a critical moment. Women are leaving at unprecedented rates, particularly those in leadership roles and those balancing motherhood with careers. The roundtable brought together influential voices to explore the root causes of this challenge and to develop actionable solutions. APTA TRANSform attendees learned about the barriers preventing women from thriving in the workplace and discovered innovative strategies to create a more inclusive and supportive industry for all.
