“Burning American flags, desecrating a replica of the Liberty Bell, and scrawling ‘Hamas is coming’ outside of Union Station in DC. These ‘protestors’ have one message, which, according to the Director of National Intelligence, is backed by Iran. It’s not about peace. It’s not about the hostages. It’s about Hamas terrorism. They celebrate it. The civilized world condemns it.” - AJC CEO Ted Deutch

Today, Germany banned the activities of the Islamic Center Hamburg (IZH) for its illicit activities on behalf of Hezbollah and the Iranian regime. For years, AJC Berlin has raised the alarm about this center. We thank German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser for implementing the ban and urge the government to take further action against other Iranian entities, including adding the IRGC to the EU’s terror list. On Oct. 6, Omer Shem Tov joined his family in Jerusalem to celebrate his mother’s birthday. “It was a joyous evening filled with laughter,” recalled his father, Makli. But everything changed the following day when Hamas terrorists attacked Israel and took over 240 people hostage, including Omer. “Longing for him is extremely difficult. Friday night dinners bring tears. The last holiday season was horrible; we couldn’t celebrate,” said his father. Omer has been in Gaza for 290 days. We must bring him home! AJC.org/BringThemHome

Last week, The Washington Post outrageously attacked Ronen and Orna Neutra, parents of Israeli American hostage Omer Neutra, for their singular focus on bringing their son home. In a letter to the editor, AJC CEO Ted Deutch defends the Neutras, who are living an unimaginable nightmare. https://lnkd.in/gJPDnk8K

On October 7, 22-year-old Arab Israeli Hamzah Al-Zayadni and his father Yosef were kidnapped while working in a cowshed in southern Israel. Yosef, a father of 18 and grandfather of 22, and Hamza, a married man with two young children, have been torn from their families by Hamas. Hamas' actions have devastated numerous families, regardless of religion or nationality. We will not stop until all hostages are returned home! AJC.org/BringThemHome

We are heartbroken that two of the hostages—Alex Dancyg and Yagev Buchshtav—have been confirmed dead. Their bodies are still being held in Gaza. Both were abducted by Hamas terrorists from their homes on October 7. May their memories be a blessing. Their deaths underscore the urgent need to bring all hostages home.

Hezbollah, backed by Iran, was responsible for the horrific AMIA attack and subsequent terror attacks in Panama, Bulgaria, and Israel. In 2013, the EU designated its so-called "military wing" a terrorist organization, but not its supposed "political wing." This is complete fiction. Join us in calling on the EU to once and for all fully designate Hezbollah as a terrorist organization: AJC.org/DesignateHezbollah
