Heads up on Truescreen NSOPW delays :-/. Truescreen is currently experiencing a system-wide delay in National Sex Offender Public Website (NSOPW) results. Since early May, both California and Delaware State Sex Offender Registries have not reported to nsopw.gov, causing NSOPW checks to remain in pending status.

#AmeriCorps and other #nationalservice programs we serve have asked for a simple way to track communications with members, staff, volunteers and clients served. It's no fun to have to search one's inbox or phone for emails or texts sent -- especially if the staff member who sent the message is no longer with one's program (and especially if one's program is undergoing an audit!). We're thrilled to be taking the feature live tonight to make life better for all: members, staff, program officers, and even OIG auditors! Here's a preview! https://lnkd.in/gAKqcTyN

What an amazing session, Sharon Tewksbury-Bloom and Do Good, Be Good! So happy we can work together to bring the session to so many #AmeriCorps members nationwide! See you in Minneapolis next week!
An amazing thing happened at last night's virtual member workshop. I need to give you a bit a context first though... As workshop facilitators, we think a lot about how to make the workshop accessible and engaging for participants. We keep up to date with the latest tools and tech, but we've made a choice to keep our member workshops low tech and high connection. We have learned from talking to members that many members join a workshop from their phone. They also don't always have strong internet connections. So we keep it simple for the best possible experience. Last night one of the first members to share out by unmuting didn't have their camera on. When they shared their reflection they mentioned that they were joining from the city bus on their way home from their service site. This member was fully engaged in the workshop and was able to participate fully from a phone while on public transit. We're going to call that a win! You hear a lot of advice about ways to get people to turn their cameras on or stay engaged using polls, quizzes and bells and whistles. Make sure you are starting your design by understanding your audience. How are they participating in the workshop? What tech are they using? How well does your activity work on a phone with 3G internet speeds? Highly produced workshop activities can be great or they can be isolating and backfire if your audience can't actually participate in them.
