Over the next two weeks, thousands of athletes from across the globe will convene in Paris for the 2024 Olympics. For many, their connection will go beyond sport – as their families have been affected by Alzheimer’s or other dementias. Help us celebrate the current and former Olympians who have joined us in the fight to #ENDALZ! #Paris2024 💜🥇💜

About us
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Our Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter was one of seven founding chapters of the National Alzheimer's Association, headquartered in Chicago. It was started by family caregivers who came together around a common need of getting support and help for their loved ones with dementia. Since 1979, our donor-supported, nonprofit Alzheimer’s Association has provided reliable information and care consultation; created supportive services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes. Our Mission To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Our Vision A world without Alzheimer's disease.®

We're happy to welcome Donna Magarian to our board of directors! She reached out to express interest in a board position after her mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Motivated by the challenges her family faced while seeking support, Donna now wants to help other individuals and families by advancing dementia research, increasing funding and improving access to resources. Originally from Washington D.C., Donna moved to Minneapolis after graduating from Georgetown University Law Center. After a brief time living in North Dakota with her husband where she worked at a private law firm, they moved to Minnesota. She began a working at the Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis, then became an adjunct law school professor and served as a member of the Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission. She has a deep passion for social justice and equity. Thank you, Donna!

Congrats to Ashley Snell, Sr. Director of Development at our MN-ND Chapter, on her 20-year anniversary with the Alzheimer's Association®! Over the years, Ashley has developed strong relationships with our supporters, people impacted by dementia, volunteers and staff. She has stepped in to oversee multiple Walks when needed, and brings a positive attitude to all she does to fundraise for our programs and research. She is our local historian and a creative problem-solver too. We are lucky to have her. Thank you, Ashley!
