About us

Alpha Chi is a coeducational academic honor society and a member of the Association of College Honor Societies. Since 1922 our purpose has been to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction. We accept only students who place in the top ten percent of their class from all academic disciplines. With some 300 chapters, located in almost every state, the organization inducts approximately 10,000 members annually. Alpha Chi offers many grants, scholarships, fellowships, awards, and travel stipends to support undergraduate and graduate scholarship.

  • At Alpha Chi's national convention in 2016, we were privileged to hear from Sonia Nazario, author of 𝘌𝘯𝘳𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦'𝘴 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺, as she told the story of a "Honduran boy's struggle to find his mother in the U.S." The novel was based on Nazario's newspaper series that won two Pulitzer Prizes, an award that recognizes significant achievement in journalism, arts, and letters. In honor of #WorldRefugeeDay, consider adding 𝘌𝘯𝘳𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦'𝘴 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘺 to your summer reading list! • It's time for a Member Spotlight! Elton Dean, MBA, an alumni member from the Connecticut Gamma chapter at Post University, is the author of a soon-to-be-published book titled, "A Yeti Like Freddie: Talking to Kids About Autism." Elton says about his inspiration, "As the father of a young son on the autism spectrum, I could not find a resource that said what I wanted to say in the way I wanted to say it. So, I used a theme my son loves to tell a story that can help generate more understanding and acceptance."
