We are harnessing the immune system to treat neurodegeneration and cancer.
About us
We have always walked our own path at Alector. That’s what led us to our bold thinking and fresh, new approach of empowering the body’s immune system to fight disease. Join us in our mission to eliminate neurodegeneration and cancer through immuno-neurology. We are developing a broad portfolio of programs, currently in various stages of clinical trials. Alector is based in South San Francisco, CA. We were founded in 2013 by thought leaders in biotechnology, neuroscience, and antibody drug discovery.

Have you heard of a #colorwalk? Over the years, the Alector People team has used them as way to add intention and mindfulness to our community activities. This year, during Earth Month, we used a weekly color walk as a way to encourage Alectorians to connect with each other, get outside and appreciate the world around us. Check out our most colorful shots throughout the challenge!

Last month, we were thrilled to welcome #FTD advocate Wanda Smith to Alector. For decades, since her mother was diagnosed with dementia nearly 40 years ago, Wanda has been extremely dedicated in her advocacy work focused on Alzheimer’s and FTD-GRN. In May, she was named Alzheimer's San Diego's 2024 Visionary of the Year. Most recently, Wanda was instrumental in the state of California adopting a resolution proclaiming Sept. 22-29 FTD Awareness Week in California.
