About us
When Alabama Power Company was founded on Dec. 4, 1906, it was the beginning of more than simply an electric utility company. It marked the beginning of affordable, reliable electricity that would transform Alabama's economy and vastly improve the quality of life for its citizens. For 100 years, Alabama Power's history has been intricately linked with that of the state it proudly serves. Alabama Power provides the valuable combination of competitive prices, reliable electricity supply and unparalleled service to 1.5 million homes, businesses and industries in the southern two-thirds of Alabama.

We’re proud to support the next wave of line workers!
What an amazing week! I can't say enough about our wonderful industry partners at Alabama Power Company and how they support our Wallace Community College Lineworker program. The Digger Derrick in the background was graciously donated by Alabama Power Company to our Lineworker program recently. Another great example of local/regional industry leaders partnering with their local community college to ensure students have the equipment needed for quality training. Jason Davis, words can't express my gratitude for meeting such a huge program need for us. A huge thanks to our friends from Alabama Power Company, Chere Johnson, Trent Dillard and David Norwood for visiting and touring our Linworker program this week. Ya'll are the best! Some of our crews are heading home following a historic restoration effort assisting our fellow Southern Company colleagues at Georgia Power Company. Hurricane Helene caused extreme infrastructural damage and we’re proud to support them. Our fleet crew will stay in Georgia as they finish up Helene restoration and brace for impact from Hurricane Milton. Our fleet is essential to our operations, ensuring we run smoothly day in and day out.
It is incredible to watch our Southern Company family show out when they are called upon. I love getting the opportunity to see these professionals do what they do. Alabama Power Company Fleet Services is not only providing service to our Fleet that is currently serving in Georgia. We are working around the clock to assist Georgia Power with fueling efforts across the impacted areas. Keep up the good work!
