Last Friday we had the privilege of exercising our green thumbs at the GrowGood nonprofit urban farm. Thank you to NAIOP SoCal for hosting this event and bringing attention to this wonderful charity! GrowGood, Inc is based out of an urban, regenerative, farm in the city of Bell. They provide food, training and more, for those experiencing homelessness. In celebration of National HVAC Tech Day, we made plans to treat our technicians to an unforgettable deep-sea fishing adventure. We arranged for a charter boat and spent the entire day sailing along the coast, catching fish and catching up with each other. The ocean breeze and time with friends made for quite a memorable trip! We at ACS are immensely proud of the cooperation and participation of our entire team when it comes to our regularly held, company-wide, safety meetings. In our last meeting, we had a deep dive into ergonomic injury prevention. We discussed the proper techniques and procedures to use when approaching a task, such as lifting heavy objects, to avoid sprains, strains, or worse. We also shed light on the subtle, but serious, dangers of CTD's (cumulative trauma disorders), which are caused by not taking the proper precautions when working on repetitive tasks or working with lengthy or repeated exposure to harmful elements, such as UV rays from the sun. There was also a presentation on recognizing and preventing workplace violence, an unfortunate reality of today, but one that we are prepared and diligent to avoid. It reminds us of how lucky we are to have such a tight-knit community amongst our ACS team. We took advantage of the gathering to catch up with our friends over delicious tacos and snow cones! As always, we ended the day with raffle drawings for some serious prizes! Excited to share our experience at the IREM Orange County SCREC tradeshow! This years event was a resounding success! We left that day feeling like we became our own champions! The dedication and enthusiasm of all presenters and attendees was evident, and we felt privileged to receive the “best booth” award (two consecutive years and counting!) in a field of impressive exhibits. It was a pleasure to connect with everyone, and we hope you enjoyed participating in our racing contest as much as we enjoyed holding it.
