When AIFS was founded in 1964, there was no study abroad “industry,” no formal awards for the complex work of international education—just educators committed to cultural exchange. Today AIFS Abroad is honored to be named the #1 Top Rated Study Abroad Provider for 2023 by GoAbroad.com. GoAbroad’s dedication to capturing valuable insight on study abroad experiences is an asset to global education and one that compels our field toward continuous excellence. While we don't do this work for awards and recognition, it is deeply affirming to receive them. We are touched that students and families feel AIFS Abroad’s commitment to our mission and the communities in which we learn. We are proud to be an organization which helped establish the study abroad field, and that we continue to have such meaningful impact. #studyabroad #highereducation #highered #globaleducation #intle #internationaleducation

Student Athlete at University of North Carolina Asheville

This summer’s Maymester, I had the privilege of studying abroad in Rome, Italy with AIFS Abroad. Taking a Cross Cultural Psychology class with a Clincal Psychotherapist gave me insight on the development of human behavior, values, attitudes, and mental health diagnoses in a cross cultural perspective. I am forever greatful for this experience!

Changing the narrative of “who studies abroad” requires authentic, honest conversations that lead with a desire to change. Our Director of Inclusion Initiatives Kory Saunders, MBA (She/Her) breaks down our multi-pronged approach to increased Access, Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (AIDE) in study abroad, and why it is critically important. (Spoiler: Inclusion is cultural competency.) To share and learn more about different approaches to DEI in our field, and to dedicate time to these important discussions, please join us August 8 for the community discussion, “We Need Some Space: Considering Together the Challenges, Strategies & Future of AIDE at Our Institutions.” Register now: https://lnkd.in/eUddrRP2

    Student at Texas Tech University

Since my time in Australia has officially come to a close, I'm able to look back and see how incredibly impactful this experience has been! Interning on the paid-media team at Tag AU has opened my eyes to what a career in social media marketing looks like in the real world. One of my favorite phrases is "there's only so much you can learn in a classroom." Being able to truly experience those responsibilities and gradually discover my personal strengths has made me feel much more confident in my professional pursuits! During my time at Tag, I had the chance to build compelling ads and run comprehensive analyses of campaign data. It was a fantastic learning experience that not only enhanced my technical skills but also broadened my understanding of global media strategies. I am grateful for the chance to work with such a talented team and for the support from Texas Tech University and AIFS Abroad. This internship has been a significant step in my professional journey, and I’m excited to apply these insights as I continue to grow in the field of marketing. Thank you to everyone who made this experience unforgettable! #Internship #DigitalMarketing #GlobalExperience #Marketing #ProfessionalGrowth

Graduate Student | Precision Sports Technology Marketing Intern | Alabama Women’s Hockey Director of PR | WVUA 23 Social Media Manager

Today was my final day as an intern with Precision Sports Technology.☹️ To say that this experience interning abroad with a fantastic company was amazing, is simply underestimating it. This summer was by far the best summer I’ve ever had! My bosses & coworkers were absolutely phenomenal, and I loved having the opportunity to showcase my skills & talents in the world of marketing & communications. The team never failed to uplift me, but also give me constructive criticism that only helped me grow. Not only that, but they’re pretty humorous people as well, which meant no day was ever boring! 😊 I want to give a special thanks to Emma Meehan, Padraig Dennison, Sean Mc Veigh, and Ewan Oliver for helping me grow & learn more in this role. You are all absolutely amazing, and I’m so excited to see you all take Precision Sports Technology to the next level & beyond.👏 Big shout out to my coworker Carin Chando as well! Without her being there for me to seek out her opinion on graphics, blog writing, or anything of that matter, I don’t know where I’d be!😂 Thank you AIFS Abroad for this experience, and another big shout out to Karen Marines Lyons for being my rock throughout this summer! I’m going to endlessly miss these folks, as well as the beauty of Ireland. Until we meet again! 💗🇮🇪

Recent Summer '24 Analytics Intern at Uniting | Master's in ITM Student at The University of Texas at Dallas | Pursuing Data Analytics Roles

Today marks the last day of my summer 2024 data analytics internship at Uniting! I've had the pleasure of being able to do an internship abroad program in Sydney, Australia through AIFS Abroad. These past few months have been really special to me and have helped me grow both professionally and personally. Deciding to live across the world independently for a few months was definitely something I had to get out of my general comfort zone for, but it has genuinely been such a worthwhile opportunity I'm really glad I took a chance on! 😊 Uniting is a non-profit social services organization that seeks to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice! Services offered by Uniting include aged care services, retirement and independent living, early learning and childcare, disability support services, foster care, mental health, counseling and mediation, family, youth, and housing/support for those that are homeless. At my internship, I was able to work under Brad Kearns and learned more about how data analytics is used in the people workforce management sector specifically. I have gained more exposure in completing analysis through dashboarding in MS Excel, using the company-specific software such as PageUp to create reports/visualizations, and data visualization within Power Bi. The work I completed primarily had to do with drawing insights from recruiter, ad, and candidate data. My time at Uniting has helped me enrich my technical and soft skills! I am also grateful that I could intern at a company whose values and services align closely with my passion of psychology as well. On a more personal note, living in Australia and being a part of the AIFS Abroad summer 2024 program has allowed me the pleasure of meeting amazing people within my program/workplace, creating great memories, and getting to explore a part of the world that I have always wanted the chance to explore! ❤️ As I continue my studies as a Master's in ITM student at The University of Texas at Dallas within the Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas, I will carry the lessons I have learned this summer with me. I look forward to future opportunities and to continue the process of growing and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone! #UTDMSITM #DataAnalytics #SummerInternship
